Tennessee Future Stars Nashville Tryout -QB/RB Standouts
The Tennessee Future Stars program held its first tryout of 2022 in Nashville at Ensworth Frist Campus this past Sunday. This was the first of fours tryouts across the Volunteer State, as the Tennessee Future Stars will compete against their rival Kentucky Future Stars in June. Some pretty good talent came out to compete for a spot on the roster, this weekend but a few stood out among the rest. Below are highlights of the standouts in the Quarterback and Running Back positions.
Xavier Murray Xavier Murray 5'8" | 155 lbs | QB White House Heritage | 2027 TN | Quarterback | 2027
Murray’s passing ability surpassed his age group. His poise and accuracy when hitting his target did not go unnoticed. His movements all throughout the tryout were consistent and smooth creating confidence within the offensive line and specifically the wide receivers. His arm strength exuded power which stems from the work he has put in this offseason. Excited to see his progression going into the fall.
Hugh Price | Quarterback | 2026
Price is an athlete that is competing at a high level right now. His technique stood out amongst the QB group. His height works to his advantage through making reads and finding his target. There are no wasted movements when the ball is snapped and put into play. Enjoyed watching him perfect his craft by listening to coaches and following directions. His intelligence and desire to learn will take him far as he continues to progress forward.
Cruz Jenkins | Quarterback | 2027
Jenkins was a player that stood out in the intermediate passing game. His quick releases demonstrated a natural talent for this position. There was no hesitation when it came to throwing to his receivers and making decisions. His footwork was average amongst the group but his passing ability and speed allowed him to stand out.
Jackson Wills | Running Back | 2027
Impressed by the power and confidence out of Wills in Nashville. His stature and explosiveness stood out amongst the group. His ability to get there and pick up yardage was impressive in itself. His size paired with his explosion will be key when breaking tackles and making plays. His progression not only physically but mentally will be imperative in his development as a running back in this field.
Bradshaw Klym Bradshaw Klym 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Grassland Middle | 2026 TN | Running Back | 2026
Toughness and grit were seen out in Klym. Despite his tall height, he was able to stay low and dig through his defenders to move the chains. Through various drills, his strength showed through with his ability to burst and maintain power while the ball was in his hands. Excited to see how he can develop his intelligence in this game.
