Castaneda does just about everything for Le Grand other than drive the bus to the game. He is a precise route runner who could be a little more explosive out of his stance. His strength is making plays after the catch because he is shifty and has good instincts. He adjusts to the ball well during his deep routes and has good hands. Once he gets going he has decent speed. There is not a lot of film on him at corner but on the few plays I watched you can tell that he understands how to defend basic route concepts he closes to the ball well. He also kicks off, punts and returns kicks. He needs to put on weight, which he knows, and work on his explosiveness out of his stance in order to improve as a college prospect, but he is a very good high school player to have on your roster.

RJ Whitten RJ Whitten 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Folsom | 2024 State CA , Folsom
I personally like Whitten better as a defensive back than a receiver, but he can do both pretty well. He can play corner split out wide or be a safety who primarily plays zone coverage. He has really good ball skills and times his moves well to avoid penalties. He’s fast enough to stay in the pocket of receivers running inside routes and is a good tackler. As a receiver he can break tackles and make plays after the catch. He is young and needs to add some size and it will be interesting to see how well he adjusts to the speed of the varsity level. He has two elite college prospects to learn from at Folsom in Rico Flores Rico Flores 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Folsom | 2023 State CA and Walker Lyons Walker Lyons 6'5" | 230 lbs | TE Folsom | 2023 State CA .

Josiah Lamarque Josiah Lamarque 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Newport Harbor | 2024 State CA , Newport Harbor
Lamarque is one of my favorite players to watch on film and in person. He put on a master class of receiving in a playoff game against Santa Barbara last season. He changes directions on a dime and was able to burn guys with double moves. He is pretty fast but can create separation with more than just his speed. I think he projects better as a college prospect at receiver but he plays defensive back as well. He can line up in the slot or split out wide and Newport likes to give him tough matchups in man coverage because of his speed and ball skills. If he was a little taller and bigger, he would have multiple offers right now.
And just like that, @NHTarsFootball is back in it.@Aj_GMoore finds @JosiahLamarque for a 48-yard touchdown. PAT is good.

Tijani Daley, San Gabriel
Daley is a small guy at 5-foot-8 and under 160 pounds. As a receiver, San Gabriel loves to line him up in the slot and run seam routes with him because he gets matched up against outside backers or safeties which he can easily outrun. He is fast for his size and when he gets going he can outrun secondary players. As a corner, he plays a lot of cover 3 and does a good job adjusting to the ball. He has great hands which makes him an interception threat. He times his jumps very well which helps him when covering taller receivers and is fast enough to stay in the hip pocket in man coverage. He gets a little nonchalant on his back pedal sometimes and I’d like to see him transition from his back pedal a little more smoothly, but he gets the job done. Daley, despite his lack of size, is a good athlete who you can tell the San Gabriel coaches know how to use and will work hard.
