#Back2Ballin with Iowa 7v7: Final Hit List of Standouts
In this article:
We watched tons of prospects two weekends ago at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. Unfortunately, the chicken scratch notes on my notepad sometimes require an magnify glass, or there is just not a enough room to get everyone on my radar at the given time I am writing/scouting out an article. Also, some of these prospects have already committed to play on Saturdays, so I want of course to make sure that we cover the uncommitted prospects first and get those young men the exposure they extremely need here being a Midwest prospect. Here is a solid list of prospects from ALL divisions that I had some quick notes on from #Back2Ballin.
The Youngsters
Jari Perkins | WR | Waterloo (IA)-Iowa Savages | 2030
Jari made one of the most impressive catches in the championship game for the 10U division that I got to watch at the UNI Dome. In the back of the end zone, this young man used excellent balance and a heck of a stretch to bring in an extremely tough catch especially for a player at his age to make. You certainly want to watch the catch by Jari below!

AJ Carter | QB | Cedar Falls (IA)/Iowa Savages | 2030
AJ was the main man that made the throw above to Jari Perkins of the Iowa Savages. I saw a handful of clips form AJ from #Back2Ballin, and I got to admit this young man shows off excellent precision with his wide receivers and allows them to use their athleticism and play-making ability to make some great plays especially on deeper routes. Strong arm from this young man in the Class of 2030 out of Cedar Falls, Iowa!
Tyler Conrad | RB | Germantown (WI)-Wisconsin Chargers | 2026
Tyler logged the most touchdowns in a game that I heard from the junior high division, putting together a three-touchdown game in their championship title in 13U.
The High Schoolers
AJ Nichols AJ Nichols 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Wauwatosa East | 2022 State WI | ATH | Wauwatosa East (WI)-The Show | 2022
The Wayne State (MI) commit showed some extremely versatile skillsets in Cedar Falls at #Back2Ballin. The defense walked a slippery slope in the reps I watched from AJ, trying to identify his agility as this young man’s cutting ability is very solid & can change directions quite efficiently. I love this kid’s balance around the sidelines on tape, as he executes strong footwork along the edges, while pass-catching on shorter routes and can make some noise with his speed too along the rim. AJ also can fill it up as a 3rd level athlete that can get out of traffic smoothly with his elite vision. Wayne State got a solid prospect in this young man out of Wauwatosa East.
Brody Clubb Brody Clubb 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Clear Creek-Amana | 2025 State IA | TE/DE | Fire Dragons (IA)-Clear Creek-Amana | 2025
Iowa subscribers will hear more in depth about Brody in the coming weeks from us on PRZ, but the reps I saw from Brody were extremely impressive at #Back2Ballin at the UNI Dome. Brody shows off some soft hands on both sides of the football, and when you watch it on tape this comes to light very quickly on his freshmen tape. He shows an efficient step to get to the football very quickly and a stout physicality level to add to it. To add even more context on Brody, he also has a excellent stance as a d-end for his age and it is easy to see why others see his value as a college prospect already, as his measurables at 6’3 230 pounds are tough to find throughout the Midwest from the defensive end position. I have no doubt this young man will be playing on Saturdays soon enough, and I will make this call early that Brody is another Big Ten-caliber Division I prospect in the making coming out of Clear Creek-Amana that also has grade A character to match.
Sylvester Walker Sylvester Walker 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Riverside University | 2022 State WI Jr. | DB | Milwaukee Riverside (WI)-The Show | 2022
Sylvester is a safety prospect I remember being a huge fan of at our Prep Redzone Iowa showcase last spring, and that yet again came to light at #Back2Ballin a few weeks back. I loved watching Sylvester’s tracking ability with the wideouts he was covering throughout the weekend, as he showed excellent adjustment on reacting to the ball with his speed and quick trigger. Sylvester also possessed a poised demeanor in 1v1 coverage by hands down leveling off the wide receiver without excessive hands throughout his reps. His ability on tape to use his vertical and strong vision are going to set the tone for something special for this Mississippi College commit along with the excellent range he can cover!
