As April begins, so does our new Community Film Room series! Be sure to send your film in via DM to @PrepRedzoneAL! [player_tooltip player_id="319292" first="Kingston" last="Lowe"]-LB |6’1 210| |St. Paul’s Episcopal| @lowe_kingston on Twitter [player_tooltip player_id="319292" first="Kingston" last="Lowe"] is a versatile linebacker that has contributed greatly to St. Paul’s defense, both inside and outside. Although he is productive when placed inside, Lowe really thrives when placed on the edge. On the edge, Lowe is really well-rounded, he can both stop the run and rush the passer really well. Against the run, Lowe possesses the strength and power to bully offensive linemen, and often brings down the ball carrier in the process. Against the pass, Lowe wins his matchups routinely, he has terrific size and his pass rush moves combined with that have helped him make big-time plays in the backfield. As he heads into his junior season, Lowe has a great deal of potential to shine this fall for St. Paul’s, be sure to keep an eye out for him! [player_tooltip player_id="319293" first="Ryan" last="Reese"]-OL |6’3 235| |Ramsay| @Ryan56Reese on Twitter [player_tooltip player_id="319293" first="Ryan" last="Reese"] had a great freshman season on Ramsay’s offensive line last fall and has shown a bunch of great things on tape that will be huge for his game heading into next season. Reese has lined up at a variety of positions on the offensive line, but regardless of where he is, Reese is huge and has a quick, powerful burst off of the line of scrimmage that has proven to dominate defenders. Reese is a mauler and a huge factor when it comes to Ramsay’s success in the run game, he creates great lanes and can get to the second level quick- often leading to some explosive plays on the ground. Reese also has shown the ability to win against pass rushers, using his footwork and technique to keep defenders out the pocket. Reese showed a ton of potential last fall, keep your eyes on him to watch him progress even more this year! [player_tooltip player_id="319297" first="Myles" last="Cook"]-DE |6’5 240| |Bob Jones| @MylesCook19 on Twitter [player_tooltip player_id="319297" first="Myles" last="Cook"] is a massive defensive end that showed a lot of promise last fall. Cook is huge and surprisingly fast for his size- he has a quick burst off of the line of scrimmage and also has the ability to quickly pursue and take down the ball carrier consistently. Cook can cause some chaos on passing downs, often on film you can see him generating great pressure and altering the course of plays entirely. Cook also has a knack for making tackles, he does a good wrapping up and finds himself all around the field doing so. Overall, Cook has the size and quickness to make some really huge plays on the defensive line, and will create some more of those this fall! [player_tooltip player_id="319295" first="Javeon" last="Fields"]-ATH |6’2 165| |Midfield| @phatt_fields on Twitter [player_tooltip player_id="319295" first="Javeon" last="Fields"] had an explosive year at Midfield last fall, lining up and producing on both sides of the ball as a freshman. Fields has terrific size and athleticism as an underclassman, and plays really physical and fast in both phases of the game, making him a guy you want to have eyes on at all times. On offense, Fields lines up at wide reciever and dominates. Using his size and hands, Fields has the ability to make a variety of difficult contested catches, and plays through contact after the catch really well. On defense, Fields lines up at defensive back and uses the same hands/ball skills he does at wide reciever to dominate, often he is seen making some huge pass breakups and interceptions. Fields is going to be an exciting prospect to keep track of, expect to see him continue to make big plays ths fall.
