Up and down the 2023 rankings are young men working their tails off day in and day out, and as for these three players, they all have a shot to lead their teams to great heights this Fall. It was immensely difficult to rank these three as I truly believe they have similar D1 ceilings.
Timmy Kloska Timmy Kloska 6'0" | 220 lbs | RB Grand Rapids West Catholic | 2023 State MI – West Catholic
If you live in West Michigan, chances are you know who Timmy Kloska Timmy Kloska 6'0" | 220 lbs | RB Grand Rapids West Catholic | 2023 State MI is. One of the most fun players to watch in Michigan, Kloska broke multiple West Catholic records last season. He’s the hardest-working athlete I’ve personally met (look at the Tweet below), and he is truly no match for most opponents in the OK-Blue.
In terms of his game, he’s very quick with a 4.71 40-yard dash and insanely powerful standing at 6’ 225. When I watched him play, he was ideal in power situations, but he could also break away easily with good elusiveness but elite strength. Again, Kloska has had one heck of an offseason, and I expect him to dominate in the Fall.
@KloskaTimmy has been training here at PowerStrength for 4 years. Tim is not a new name around PSTS – as he has never taken a break from training over those 4 years‼️
He is an excellent example of the kind of athletic progress you can make if you never lose sight of the goal.👀👇 pic.twitter.com/m9A7eABE2X— PowerStrength Training Systems (@PowerStrengthTS) March 10, 2022
Xavior Tyus Xavior Tyus 5'7" | 170 lbs | RB Portage Northern | 2023 State MI – Portage Northern
The “XMan,” standing at 5’9 180, is an unrelenting all-around athlete. He’s had a great offseason as he competed with Legacy Kzoo, and he’s been busy touring colleges while also sharpening his mind + body. Tyus is an elusive back that is often used in the passing game, and his athletic ability makes him a swiss army knife on both sides of the ball. Tyus seems to be on the brink of some offers, and with a good start to the season, he could get those offers.
Dahmir Farnum Dahmir Farnum 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Mona Shores | 2023 State MI – Mona Shores
On one of the most successful programs in Michigan history, Farnum looks to lead Mona Shores to another State Championship. He’s another one of those pure athletes that can flat-out make it happen. With an all-region nod, great performances against top teams like Detroit King, and more, it’s hard to overlook Farnum. He’s blazing fast with a great understanding of play design, as he follows his blocks and gains every yard he can get. Overall, if Farnum is able to keep up his great performances then show out in the postseason, Farnum could shoot up the rankings in December.
