5. Anthony Luna, Western
Luna led all sophomores in Orange County in passing yards last season with 2,713 and touchdowns with 34. Luna is tough to evaluate because half of the season Western is playing teams that have no business being on the field with them. But that isn’t his fault and he performed well against quality teams too. He sees the field very well and knows when to put touch on the ball and when to fire it in there. He takes risks with the ball and reminds me of a baseball player that swings for the fences; sometimes he hits a home run and sometimes he strikes out, but the more he matures he will learn to take the singles and doubles sometimes. The ball comes out of his hand nicely and he works out with coach Danny Hernandez.

4. Cooper Adams, Villa Park
Adams got some late playing time last season after starting quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="143138" first="Nathan" last="Kornely"] got injured. He filled in nicely, completing 63 percent of his passes for 251 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s on the smaller side under 6 feet tall but has quick feet and extends plays with his legs. He makes very good decisions with the football and on the film I watched of him, he made the right read on the vast majority of the plays which is rare for a sophomore. He is very accurate and as he puts on size and strength, his velocity and accuracy will improve. Adams is a lefty and works with coach Kevin Loyola at Villa Park who is one of the better quarterback coaches in the county.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="273584" first="Dylan" last="Mills"], San Clemente
Mills transferred to San Clemente from JSerra where he was thrown into the fire playing in the Trinity League as a freshman and sophomore. Mills has the tools to be a Division 1 college quarterback but was on a JSerra team that was quite frankly overmatched. He reads defenses well and has a quicker release than a lot of quarterbacks on this list. He is one of the faster quarterbacks on this list and it will be interesting to see if the San Clemente coaching staff chooses to feature that part of his game more. He plays on one of the Premium 7on7 club teams and when I saw him at TurfWars in January, he was pretty accurate down the field. Mills has an offer from Western Kentucky.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="115458" first="Jack" last="Stupin"], Tustin
For the second consecutive year, Tustin gets a quality transfer quarterback. Last year it was [player_tooltip player_id="187298" first="Tobey" last="Schmidt"] and this year it’s Stupin who came in from Millikan. Stupin is a big guy who has a very good arm and would have started at a lot of schools as a sophomore last season. He is best when running play action with quick reads. He sells the fake well, makes good pre snap reads and can put heat on his throws. He is a versatile quarterback that the Tustin coaching staff is having fun building its playbook around. The ball jumps out of his hand better than it does with most quarterbacks in his class. Stupin has offers from Pittsburgh, Cal Poly, San Jose State, Georgia Southern, Marshall and Houston.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="147708" first="Elijah" last="Brown"], Mater Dei
This one is a no brainer. Brown is 17-0 as a starting quarterback, has won a national championship and put up absurd numbers as a sophomore. Brown completed 74 percent of his passes for 2,581 yards with 30 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He has a quick and smooth release and can throw the deep ball better than anyone on this list. Mater Dei coach Bruce Rollinson has coached Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley, JT Daniels and Bryce Young and called Brown one of the best quarterbacks he has ever seen. That is a glowing endorsement and he is not being as biased as you think he is. His teammates trust him and rally behind him even though he isn’t as vocal as Daniels and Young are. Brown has offers from Arizona, Michigan, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, UCLA, USC and Utah.
