In a clip in his highlights, the pocket collapses and he pulls the ball down to scramble using his foot quicks to get into the endzone from twenty-five yards out. This provides a glimpse into his ability to use his foot quicks to avoid pressure and scramble where he can, at times, break a long run. He also provides glimpses of being able to make off balance throws on the move along the sideline after he escapes the pocket to extend the play. In the first clip of his highlights, this young man provides a glimpse of being able to set up and deliver a deep shot downfield to his receiver running a post route between the hashes. When doing so, he also provides a glimpse of being able to drive off his back foot and stride into throws when there’s space in the pocket. This young man furthers his throwing strength by providing glimpses of adding a touch on level two and level three throws when on the move working out of platform. He provides glimpses of making throws on the move working out of platform as well as extending plays after he slides to avoid pressure which is seen throughout his highlights and is a trait to keep an eye on as he looks to take his first Varsity snaps. Switching gears into his ability to read the defense and field vision, there’s a clip in his highlights where he runs an RPO and upon keeping the ball there’s a defender right in his face. This young man then uses his foot quicks to slide avoiding the pressure by escaping the pocket. Upon doing so, he keeps his eyes downfield as he’s on the move to his right and sucks the defense up as he initially pulls the ball down as he’s approaching the line of scrimmage before getting the ball up high at the last moment. He’s then able to find his receiver downfield along the sideline for the completion to keep the chains moving. His ability to buy second chances is one to keep an eye on. In a clip in his highlights, the pocket is collapsing so he pulls the ball down to scramble to his left and once he does he shows a glimpse of his quick feet to make not one but town defenders miss in open space. He does so before using a quick cut to get vertical into the endzone for the touchdown. His ability to buy second chances has been seen throughout his film and is another trait to keep an eye on moving forward. In the second clip in his highlights, he showcases a glimpse of standing strong in the pocket to get the ball off under pressure as a defender is in his face and delivers a hit. Before taking the hit, he’s able to get off a level three throw for a 35+ yard completion downfield to his receiver. Again, this analysis is taken off his JV highlights and we still have yet to see how his skill set transitions to the Varsity level against the Varsity competition. Currently holds no offer.
