Some of the best players in the area were at the event and it was difficult to get a good look at every player. Here are the running backs who stood out to me.
Kobe Boykin Kobe Boykin 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Los Alamitos | 2024 CA , Orange – Kobe looked solid in the speed and agility drills but didn’t particularly stand out, but he made a huge impression on everyone in attendance during the one-on-one period. One of the top linebackers at the camp told me “that kid is impossible to cover.” He is simply too fast for linebackers to cover and was getting open with ease on deep and intermediate routes. He looks way bigger than he did in the fall and may actually be a slot receiver at the next level despite his 5-foot-8 frame. Boykin is so explosive and Utah is lucky to have him commit early.

Nygel Osborne Nygel Osborne 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Millikan | 2023 State CA , Los Alamitos – Osborne was named MVP for the running backs by the camp leaders and deservedly so. He looked very fast and also was nearly impossible to cover in the one-on-ones. He is just a hair under 6 feet tall and a very lean 190 pounds. He was fast in the speed drills and has a ton of confidence. He makes Los Alamitos so hard to defend because even though they want to throw the ball a ton, you have to respect the run game because Osborne can make big plays at any time. He has four offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Kansas and San Diego State.

Dijon Stanley Dijon Stanley 6'1" | 170 lbs | RB Granada Hills | 2023 State CA , Granada Hills Charter – Stanley looked like one of the fastest guys in the 40-yard dash based on my eye test and he looks much more muscular than 175 pounds. He may shatter LA City Section records next season and he looked better catching passes than I expected. Washington State offered him in the days after the camp.
Josh Joyner Josh Joyner 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Pacifica - Oxnard | 2024 State CA , Pacifica/Oxnard – Joyner is very shifty and can create separation in the passing game using more than just his speed. He was one of the more agile running backs at the camp despite being one of the younger ones. He is not the biggest running back in the world but his speed and ability to make big plays makes up for it. Arizona and Oregon State are early on him.
Jordon Davison Jordon Davison 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Mater Dei | 2025 State CA , Mater Dei – Davison did not look like a freshman when working out next to the upperclassmen at the camp. He is every bit of 6 feet and 200 pounds. I knew he was fast but his hands were impressive and he is a guy Mater Dei will be able to use in the passing game next year. He should be able to slide in at running back right away alongside Ajon Bryant Ajon Bryant 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Mater Dei | 2024 State CA and give the Monarchs one of the best running games in the nation. Georgia offered him the day after the event.
