Some of the best players in the area were at the event and it was difficult to get a good look at every player. Here are the defensive backs who stood out to me.
Maliki Crawford Maliki Crawford 6'3" | 180 lbs | DB Pacifica | 2023 State CA , Pacifica/Oxnard – Crawford was one of the more lengthy defensive backs at 6-foot-3 and has long arms. He is so versatile and could be a corner or pack on more muscle and play safety. He looked great in the individual drills but was a mixed bag on the one-on-ones. But the guys that were beating him deep were some of the top receivers in the camp. He can physically overpower some of them but his hip movement could improve. But he has all the tools to be an elite college defensive back.

Rodrick Pleasant Rodrick Pleasant 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Serra | 2023 State CA , Serra – Pleasant wasn’t the biggest guy at the camp but was one of the best cover corners I saw. He was always in the hip pocket of receivers and never got overly handsy. Even when a receiver would have an early advantage over him, he recovered nicely and never quit on a play. He has tons of offers and was invited to participate in the All-American game.

Marcelles Williams Marcelles Williams 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB St. John Bosco | 2024 State CA , St. John Bosco – Williams was named one of the positional MVPs of the camp and was getting a ton of reps in the one-on-one period. He won the majority of matchups that I saw and had some interceptions as well. He is aggressive without drawing penalties. He can afford to put on a little muscle without losing his speed and visited USC recently.

Jett White Jett White 6'1" | 155 lbs | DB Los Alamitos | 2025 CA , Orange – White is a freshman turning sophomore and is already more polished than any corner I have seen at his age. He is close to a finished product and was able to hang with the elite receivers of the day. He will only improve as an athlete over the next two years and add some muscle which means his ceiling is off the charts. He is committed to USC and the USC reporters on hand were very excited about him.
After a great camp i was blessed with a @UANextFootball All American Game invite 🙏🏽for the 🎥 @chrisflores0321 @mikehuntley63 @adamgorney @Zack_Poff_MP @BrandonHuffman @ChadSimmons_ @DemetricDWarren @CraigHaubert @GregBiggins @sensei_david42 @FrampCamp @CoachWadu @CoachPedroza pic.twitter.com/8vjljLa7FK

Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Tustin | 2024 State CA , Alemany – Dunbar-Hawkins was coming off a strong showing at the Rivals camp the week before and looked good again at the Under Armour camp. He is physical like a safety but can cover guys out wide like a corner. He has good ball skills and times his deflections well.

Foster Slaughter Foster Slaughter 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Los Alamitos | 2024 State CA , Bishop Amat – Slaughter is versatile and can be a nickel corner or a safety at the next level. He needs to put on some muscle but he knows that and has all the tools to develop into a national prospect. He transferred from San Jacinto to Bishop Amat where he will be a big part of their secondary next season. He looked good in the one-on-one period against very good receivers. He has offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Florida State, Louisville and Nevada among others.

Xavier “DJ” Jordan, Cathedral – Jordan is a safety with track level speed and could cover guys from all over the field. He ran an 11/26 100 meters last week and looked good in the individual drills on Sunday. Like most of the 2024 defensive backs, he needs to put on some muscle and will. He has offers from Colorado State and Arizona.
Hunter Nowell Hunter Nowell 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB St John Bosco | 2023 State CA , St. John Bosco – Nowell looks a lot bigger than the 180 pounds of which he is listed and is a very good athlete. He is a safety who covers well and has very good ball skills. He enjoys competition and could have stayed at JSerra two years ago and been one of the best players but chose to go to Bosco and compete with a loaded secondary. He will be tough to keep off the field this season and his versatility is a huge asset to the Braves.
