Kotiranta didn’t put up huge numbers for San Clemente last season but San Clemente’s offense isn’t designed for one receiver to put up big stats. He has height at 6-foot-2, is a little skinny but does a really good job escaping man press coverage. He adjusts to the ball well while it’s in the air and he can bring down tough catches in traffic. I saw him at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase in January and he looked good in the agility drills like the shuttle but didn’t do many one-on-one reps due to a leg injury. He got invited to some junior days and he could get some offers after a nice senior season for a good San Clemente team and its new quarterback Dylan Mills Dylan Mills 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB San Clemente | 2024 State CA .

Trevor Monteleone Trevor Monteleone 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Cypress | 2023 CA , Cypress
Monteleone is a big guy close to 6-foot-2 and near 200 pounds. He is a physical receiver who makes catches in traffic regularly uses his body to keep the ball away from defenders. He would have put up bigger numbers if Cypress did not lose its quality quarterback early in the season. Monteleone was an All-County safety and he probably projects better as a safety at the college level, but he is still one of the better receivers in Orange County that isn’t talked about enough. He has the size and athleticism to warrant some offers soon.

KJ Reed KJ Reed 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Mission Viejo | 2023 State CA , Mission Viejo
Reed is the best college prospect on this list, but I am calling him a sleeper because he didn’t have any Division 1 offers until last month. He gets overshadowed by some of his teammates who were bigger names last offseason, but Reed is an outstanding athlete who contributed a lot to the Diablo’s offense. He is a really good deep threat who can run routes from anywhere on the field. Sometimes they use him as a wing player and sometimes they bunch him tight with another receiver and have him run the fade. He looked pretty good and strong at the Under Armour Next All-American Camp a couple of weeks ago and was recently offered by Utah State.

Derek Smith, St. Margaret’s
Smith is one of those throwback athletes who plays three sports and is a jack of all trades. He has track athlete speed and St. Margaret’s does a good job creating man-to-man matchups for him to get open against. Even when he is well-covered he brings down the ball in traffic and can make tough plays near the sidelines. He really excels as a kick returner. Smith will be the best returning offensive player for the Tartans next season and was All-CIF. He took an unofficial visit to Utah but is still waiting for his first offer.
Honored to have been selected All CIF Southern Section. I can’t wait to get back out there and make it happen again. @JustinBurns__ @Kmine4 @CoachKDubFB @CoachDavis015 @coachvips @ERusso_UtahFB @Tahj__ @CoachSonnyDykes @UtahCoachWhitt https://t.co/AOwwfmFrSF pic.twitter.com/JxrBK1L6su

Mason Wolfe Mason Wolfe 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Tesoro | 2023 CA , Tesoro
He had the fastest 40 time of anyone at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase in January. He was Tesoro’s most reliable receiver last season and they went to him on a lot of third downs. He has the speed to beat most high school corners in man coverage and Tesoro does a good job moving him around the field to create mismatches. I covered two Tesoro home games last season and on multiple crucial plays, the people in the press box were saying, “Got to go to Wolfie here,” which is always a good sign. He will be the top receiver again this season for a Tesoro team with a lot of talent returning.
Mason lead our offense in receiving this year with 32 catches for 458 yards and 4 TD’s. He plays the game with an edge and competitiveness which is infectious to his teammates. Great season Mason! #TitanUp #BandOfBrothers #Blackshirts pic.twitter.com/gMB8jpAsrs
