Central Catholic League Top 2023’s

Central Ohio is loaded with talent in the 2023 and 2024 classes like the rest of the state.  This series will focus on the league breakdowns for the 2023 class. <strong>St. Francis DeSales</strong> <strong>Seamus Bonte</strong>, LB - Seamus is a sideline to sideline LB and brings the aggression to every play.  He is a good tackler in a phone booth and in the open field.  He reads plays well and maintains gap integrity with good punch and lockout.  He is technically sound and plays the blocks with proper leverage and hand fighting.  He is getting better at his pass drops and can cancel underneath routes.  Film is below: <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13096761/Seamus-Bonte">https://www.hudl.com/profile/13096761/Seamus-Bonte</a> <strong>St. Charles</strong> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="141070" first="Ryan" last="Caretta"]</strong>, OL - Ryan stands at 6’5 and weighs 310.  He plays LT for the Cardinals and is the 8th ranked OL in Ohio.  He is a nasty run blocker with great pop and drive.  He finishes everyone across from him to and through the whistle.  He has very good technique and pad level for a big man in both the run and pass.  He blows defenders back with a devastating punch.  He is a good pass blocker with quick feet and ability to use his long arms to keep rushers on the edge.  He currently has 5 offers on the table but will garner more as camp season gets going. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13067662/Ryan-Carretta">https://www.hudl.com/profile/13067662/Ryan-Carretta</a> <strong>Bishop Hartley</strong> <strong>Anthony Murphy</strong>, OLB/TE - Anthony is 6’3 220 and plays with great athleticism on both sides of the ball.  At OLB is a great pass rusher on the edge.  He has the hips and knee bend to redirect based on ball depth.  He sets a hard edge with his outside free.  He easily defeats blocks with his punch and strength.  Good tackling ability with aggression.  At TE he blocks really well in the run based offense.  Has the ability to be effective on inside and outside run.  He has the makings of an athletic route runner with good second level separation. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13343643/Anthony-Murphy">https://www.hudl.com/profile/13343643/Anthony-Murphy</a> <strong>Bishop Watterson</strong> <strong>Charlie Bernotas,</strong> <strong>DB</strong> - Charlie is a prospect with tremendous upside at CB or Safety.  His speed is exceptional and for a younger player possesses good technique.  He was challenged in the run game and his downhill running and tackling ability were very evident.  He is a superior athlete on both sides of the ball.  On offense plays in the slot and has tremendous wiggle with the ball in his hands. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/12871136/Charlie-Bernotas">https://www.hudl.com/profile/12871136/Charlie-Bernotas</a> <strong>Bishop Ready</strong> <strong>Kaleb Schaffer</strong>, QB - Kaleb is a two sport star for the Silver Knights.  He also scored a 30 on the ACT and carries a 4.5 GPA.  He is a good athlete with great arm talent.  He commands the offense and can see over anything to make all the throws.  He slings it with good velocity and can drive it downfield.  He has the touch to throw it over the middle or short.  He is a good runner and athletic in the open field.  Keep a good eye on his senior year. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/12784958/Kaleb-Schaffer">https://www.hudl.com/profile/12784958/Kaleb-Schaffer</a>
