From class to class, quarterbacks who utilize throwing and running in tandem are becoming more and more dynamic at the high school level. Listed below are a few of those quarterback prospects who displayed elite dual-threat capabilities this past season. Now, let’s take a closer look at each quarterback individually.
2023 6’3 200 QB – Myles Slade – St. John’s
Myles Slade and the entire St. John’s football program have a very tough act to follow next season, given that the 2021 season ended with the Cadets as undefeated WCAC champions. Even so, their next star quarterback is young and eager to prove himself as St. Johns’ QB1 of the future. Myles Slade took a handful of reps during the season, and he did so in the red-zone for the most part. The reason for this is that he possesses elite running ability and next level vision, which both put him leaps and bounds ahead of most quarterbacks in his class. If Slade continues to develop his throwing strength and accuracy this offseason then there’s no reason why St. John’s won’t be WCAC championship contenders yet again. Pulling off another undefeated season would be close to a miracle in this conference, however, Myles Slade certainly gives them a chance to do so because of his dynamic playmaking ability and dual-threat potential. Myles Slade is about to have a breakout season in 2022 and D1 scouts nationwide must get their popcorn ready.

Brenton Toles Brenton Toles 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Friendship Collegiate | 2024 State MD III proved without a shred of doubt that he deserves to be the unanimous starting quarterback for St. Mary’s Ryken. His ability to run and throw simultaneously is second to none on this list, and he truly has amazing accuracy and power when throwing on the run.
