Scout’s Notes – Out-of-State Talent
The first quarterback of the bunch was West Scranton’s (PA) Caiden Berardi Caiden Berardi 6'4" | 230 lbs | QB West Scranton | 2025 PA . Berardi showcased his powerful arm throughout the morning. Blessed with tremendous size, Berardi gets plenty of John Madden Mustard on his throws. His release looked over-the-top, akin to a pitcher. Changing the angle slightly will aid him in getting the ball out just a tad bit sooner….. Hailing from Wyoming Seminary (PA) by way of Canada was Gavin Greene Gavin Greene WR Wyoming Seminary | 2025 PA . In the little bit of action I was able to see of Greene, the Canadian did an outstanding job of high pointing the ball. Throughout the afternoon, however, he consistently made the conscious effort to catch exclusively with his hands. On second though, given how routine his grabs where perhaps Green was unconsciously using them….. Jack McGuckin Jack McGuckin QB Springfield | 2025 PA may play for Springfield (PA), but he ain’t no Simpson. McGuckin showed an ability to lead his receivers nicely so they can run after the catch during routes on air. The translated fairly well to 1-on-1s. I think McGuckin has an opportunity to be more intentional with his mechanics. Doing so will speed up his his release and prevent defensive backs from getting jumps…..
The only defender from out-of-state that I got a good look at was Freedom’s (PA) Hunter Sporka Hunter Sporka 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Freedom | 2025 PA . What caught my eye about Sporka was how he engaged with oncoming blockers. When a would-be blocker approached, he had an excellent lockout. Relatedly, he had strong hands that controlled his matchup and firmly grabbed cloth, indicating that he is in clear control of them….. Out of William Tennent (PA) High School was Lorenzo Hurley Lorenzo Hurley 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB William Tennent | 2026 State PA . A running back, Hurley showcased great footwork. He was able to pick-them-up-and-put-them-down as if he was putting out a fire. This translated to nimble movements in cat & mouse drills and sharp cuts when eluding defender’s in space….. Hurley’s teammate, receiver Joseph Hebling Joseph Hebling WR William Tennent | 2025 PA , also came out to represent for William Tennent (PA). I liked Hebling’s pad level when he broke off his route. His made it difficult for defender’s to determine which direction he would go. On deep corner routes, I witnessed Hebling adjust to not-the-best balls that targeted him. I hope Hebling attacks the ball on comeback-type routes, aggressively attacking it so he can put in work with it in his hands….. Had Brady McBridge Brady McBridge QB Salesianum (DE) | 2025 MD been throwing those corner routes to Hebling there would not have been an issue. The Salesianum (DE) quarterback prospect threw an absolutely beautiful ball that was right over his target’s shoulder and dropped right in like a tear-drop.
