The players below have gotten a tremendous amount of experience under their belts, and will be some of the states best when their senior years come around. Some names are already mentioned as some of the best right now, but here we will give you some more names to talk about!
Brad Jackson Brad Jackson 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB San Antonio Reagan | 2024 State TX – Cy Creek
Jackson showed a gunslinger mentality during his sophomore campaign and displayed much confidence in the pocket. Jackson was not hesitant to let it fly. He was elusive when he needed and was a master at extending plays to find an open man. Jackson finished the season with 2,971 passing yards with 29 touchdowns. Now with two full seasons behind him, Jackson knows what it takes to win and with the weapons around him, he has potential to be a top quarterback in the class. The arm strength, athleticism, and awareness is there. Know the name!
Zion Brown – Atascocita
Brown was asked to step into a big role when the team was hit by injury at the quarterback position, but he did not disappoint. First thing that pops out with Brown is the athleticism. He has the ability to break off big gains with his legs and speed. Out in space, Brown was at his best. His quickness ability to follow his blocks helped the team in great ways. In the pocket, Brown had a cool composure. He delivered to his weapons and gained confidence with every game. Even with pressure right in his face, Brown got the ball to his targets with accuracy. Brown has shown that he can be the guy, and has the talent to help this team make a successful run. He continues to grow as a player and the more comfortable he gets, the more dangerous he is.
Kendron Penson Jr. – Fort Bend Hightower
Penson Jr. showed out his sophomore year! 2,488 passing yards with 24 passing touchdowns. He took command of the offense and put his skills on display. Penson Jr. delivered at all three levels with accuracy, and made some jaw dropping plays from the pocket in the face of pressure. The flick of the wrist to hit a covered receiver in stride, right in the basket was impressive. Penson Jr. can lead and as he continues to gain the experience, he will continue to grow as a complete player. Hightower has somebody special holding the reigns and we have only seen the tip of the iceberg!
David Capobianco – Kinkaid
Capobianco was one of the most accurate quarterbacks for his sophomore year. He completed 70% of his passes and fit the ball into some tight windows. Capobianco put the ball on a rope down the seams and managed to fit it right in between defenders on a consistent basis. He was decisive and trusted not only his arm, but his teammates. The ball was out in a hurry and he knew where his playmakers were. Capobianco finished his season with 2,119 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. Very impressive season which ended in a SPC Championship.
Adam Tran Adam Tran 5'8" | 160 lbs | QB Jersey Village | 2024 TX – Jersey
12 has a cannon on him! Tran puts something extra on his passes to get it to his receivers quick and it works! The velocity of the ball catches defenses off guard at times. Tran was a big part of a very successful 11-1 season for the Falcons. He threw for 2,062 passing yards and 16 touchdowns in 10 games and made some big plays when the team needed it the most. The more Tran develops, the more the Falcon offense becomes a force. It will be exciting to see how he has grown in the pocket heading into next season.
