I think Tran is the most fun to watch out of all these quarterbacks. He makes the most out of a difficult situation. I think he has that ‘it’ factor! He will not win the measurables argument, only listed at 5’8″, but he can throw a football! When he has time to throw, I really like his anticipation. He releases the ball before his receivers even make their break! He throws is receivers open. He’s gotten better and more confident each year. What will be interesting for his is that his primary receiver, Arbrie Carter, graduates this year. Tran leaned on Carter a lot…like…a lot a lot! Tran’s senior year will be a great test to see him distribute the football to all his receivers. He won’t have to do it all himself though, as the team’s leading rusher, Quinton Jones Quinton Jones 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Jersey Village | 2024 State TX , is returning! Those two will be asked to do a lot to get their team over the hump!

I wanted to start with the man that kept his team in the game, especially late in the game! Tran played a heck of a football game, with loads of adversity in his way! His offensive line was not the best group of linemen I have seen this season, and his receivers dropped 3+ passes (we counted), but that did not stop Tran from slinging the football all over the field. He was decently accurate, especially throws that were in the 15-20 yard range. Some passes were thrown where only his receivers could catch it. It was not a flawless game from the junior quarterback though, as she threw two interceptions, one being a costly game ceiling pick in the endzone. Even on that throw, I was not mad at the decision. His receiver was one-on-one on a 9 route (meaning a straight go for my folks still learning football terminology). The pass should have been thrown more to the outside, or a high point pass, but instead it was slightly inside for the DB to pick it off. Plays like that you can learn from. Overall, Tran led his team to what could have been an epic comeback, and made enough plays to keep them competitive. The junior ended the night completing 25 of 41 passes, for 506 yards, with a passer rating of .61%, along with 4 touchdowns to 2 interceptions. There was a lot to like about his performance!
