The athletes, in the classes of 2026, 2027 and 2028 were put through combine testing in addition to competing in one-on-one drills. There were a number of media outlets there, in addition to some very talented coaches from throughout southern New Jersey.
After previously looking at the top 2027 & 2028 performers and Part 1 of the 2026 standouts, today we are going to round out our coverage by looking at Part of the 2026 standouts.
Semaj Beals Semaj Beals 6'1" | 155 lbs | QB Roman Catholic | 2026 State PA | New Jersey | Quarterback | 2026
My favorite quarterback prospect coming out of south Jersey in the 2026 class, Beals checks all the boxes for me. A very long and lean 6-foot-1 and 155 pounds gives him good size and a frame to work with. Still undecided on what high school he’ll attend, the Millville resident has no shortage of potential suitor’s–both public or private. Certainly projects to be playing on Saturday’s in a few short years.
Jake Namnun Jake Namnun 6'2" | 280 lbs | OL Delran | 2026 State NJ | New Jersey | Offensive Line | 2026
Another prospect that had no shortage of opportunities for high school, Namnun has decided to stay home and play alongside his older brother (Derek) at Delran High School. Out of all the linemen there, he was up and away the most varsity ready prospect. Stands 6-foot-3 and 267 pounds. Is at home playing Center, but told me anywhere the coaches need him on the interior line would be fine with him.
Bryce Carter | New Hersey | Quarterback | 2026
Had heard rumbling of Carter through different coaches but he cemented his ability with me at the Showcase. Almost a carbon copy of the above mentioned Beals in terms of build and stature, except Cater is a little bit taller–probably in the 6-foot-2 range. Really like the potential that is here with Carter. Very athletic kid who also plays shooting guard on the hardwood.
Scott Freeman | New Jersey | Wide Receiver | 2026
A new name and face to me, Freeman caught my eye during combine testing. Love his size and overall length at 6-foot-3. Not just a lanky prospect, he possesses good mass at this age in the neighborhood of 170 pounds. Really good body control and ability to move while the ball is in the air. Doesn’t have straight burner speed, but is a reliable receiver. Quite easy to draw comparisons to former No.1 overall pick, Keyshawn Johnson.
Brandon Simmons | New Jersey | Offensive/Defensive Line | 2026
Not a prospect who jumped out at me right away, but the more I watched Simmons, the more I liked him. Originally jotted down his number based off his decent size at 6-foot and 235 pounds, but as I continued watching he showed fairly good athleticism for a young lineman. Moved well enough during agility drills to be noted and also had good explosion in the broad jump.
Lamar Best | New Jersey | Quarterback | 2026
I hadn’t seen Lamar throw live in a couple of years and almost didn’t recognize it was him. He’s gotten significantly taller and is filling out nicely too. I’d categorize him as a pocket passer but he showed some very good quickness during combine testing. He’s been well-coached in terms of throwing motion and quarterback play. Suited up this past year for Silk City.
Jahmir Campfield | New Jersey | Athlete | 2026
Unfortunately my phone didn’t save the picture I took of him, but Campfield was another new prospect to me. The Mays Landing native, who played for the Atlantic City Dolphins this past year, impressed with his quick feet. Traditionally a running back, he showed the feet and agility of a wide receiver when getting off the line. Made guys miss if they tried to jam him. What I saw this past weekend leads me to believe he can play Slot, Running Back or Defensive Back.
Amari Sabb Amari Sabb 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Glassboro | 2026 State NJ | New Jersey | Athlete | 2026
**Did not participate**
I’d be remiss if I didn’t include a mention of Sabb in our writeup. He attended the showcase despite nursing a minor injury. The younger brother of Keon Sabb, a four-star 2022 recruit committed to Michigan. Little brother Amari already holds offers from Penn State, Georgia and Mississippi before graduating eighth grade. Also mentioned that attending IMG Academy for high school (like Keon) was not out of the picture at this point.
