A deeper dive into quarterback performances from last Friday night's Pennsylvania Stock Up Showcase... [player_tooltip player_id="264254" first="Zion" last="Brake"] | 6’0, 143 | 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="264254" first="Zion" last="Brake"], a freshman QB out of Bethlehem Catholic looked like an upperclassman this past Friday night. Not necessarily in stature but in demeanor. This was hardly a stage too bright for Brake, as the young talent has made his rounds across the region and country showing off what he is capable of with the ball in his hands. The kid was all business. Impressed by his deep ball accuracy and depth perception. Seasoned throwing against air. Might I say the freshman tested well, securing a 4.61 40 time which is solid for a freshman standing at just under 6’1. Athletically, the sky is the limit. Can’t wait to see how he develops. [player_tooltip player_id="281312" first="Kal-El" last="Durham"] | 5’7, 151 | 2025 Say what you will about [player_tooltip player_id="281312" first="Kal-El" last="Durham"]’s size as a freshman. You can’t take a look at his JV/V West Catholic film and not come away impressed. The kid shows off a real dropback, where an emphasis on timing is obvious. His film displays a lively arm that can send balls 35-40 yards downfield. Again, he’s a 5’7 freshman. There are timing/rhythm throws in the film, there are throws on the run, even opposite hash throws. He can sprinkle in some elusiveness in the pocket too. No matter Durham’s performance at the camp, his latest film will really stick with me. I cover West Catholic and the PCL on the site, hoping to watch this young man develop further. Would love to have him at more camps. [player_tooltip player_id="248216" first="Graham" last="Hancox"] | 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="248216" first="Graham" last="Hancox"] is a kid we’ve had our eye on for some time now. Ranking as a top 400 overall prospect as well as a top 50 junior quarterback, Hancox already holds desirable stature before unwrapping his big arm. He didn’t have the junior season that he wanted due to a foot injury but I commend the kid for coming out to compete despite this injury still lingering. Believe it or not, I pick up on these things and am always willing to mention an instance of hard work when I see one. The ranking is a modest one. An effortless deep ball with pads on. Scans the middle of the field well and with purpose. Clutch player with proficient mechanics. Understand WR leverage use and when a wideout will be open, even if he isn’t initially. A lot to like out of this kid. [player_tooltip player_id="255085" first="Brady" last="Heiser"] | 5’11, 184 | 2025 There were some talented freshman QBs at this event. None were as far along in the process of becoming a collegiate QB quite like [player_tooltip player_id="255085" first="Brady" last="Heiser"] out of Gettysburg HS. Heiser is quickly becoming a favorite prospect of mine. The freshman was crisp all night long, showing off seasoned footwork and a compact delivery that I can tell has been worked on for some time. The kid was close to being named a camp "Top Performer" but was edged out by seniors. We hope to have him back. Heiser does an incredible job translating his mechanics and delivery while on the go. The Elite 11 invitee is far far ahead of his class when it comes to delivering balls accurately on the run. A ton of talk as to what Brady’s dual-threat capabilities are which is understandable. I, however, am more enamored with how magical his ball placement can be while off-platform. I could type an essay on this prospect. Excited for his future. [player_tooltip player_id="142832" first="Jack" last="Riffle"] | 6’0, 159 | 2024 Enjoyed seeing [player_tooltip player_id="142832" first="Jack" last="Riffle"] live. I have paid close attention to the young man, whether it be his on-air drills posted on Twitter, live at camps like these, or his Hudl. Love the consistency in his dropback on tape. Boasts a unique delivery where he almost hops on the follow-through to provide just a little extra torque on his throws. I believe Riffle is ready to cash in on all the work he and his family, coaches, and teammates have done. I expect a prolific junior campaign out of the Fleetwood quarterback. One where he proves his top-100 ranking was still too low. Big season or not, we will have or eye on Jack from here on out and wish him the best. Future [player_tooltip player_id="142832" first="Jack" last="Riffle"] will be the best [player_tooltip player_id="142832" first="Jack" last="Riffle"]. [player_tooltip player_id="164150" first="Mekhi" last="Wharton"] | 6’5, 210 | 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="164150" first="Mekhi" last="Wharton"]’s name needs to be mentioned when discussing who the best underclassman quarterback is in Pennsylvania. The top-50 2024 prospect, much like [player_tooltip player_id="255085" first="Brady" last="Heiser"], was very close to earning camp "Top Performer" honors. His size is an immediate eye-grab. What’s crazy is, I think Wharton’s size and how much of an advantage it is to his game is blown out of proportion. 6’2, 6’0, 5’10, take height out of the equation and you still have a potentially elite arm. Saw one rep in particular where Wharton was slightly off-balanced, didn’t panic, and simply flicked his wrist to deliver an on-target ball on a slant route. A powerful core and natural arm talent will make reps like this look like a walk-in-the-park. So much of what Wharton does well is often made to look so easy. Archbishop Wood is going to reload with this kid under center. [player_tooltip player_id="281296" first="Joseph" last="Sarjoo"] | 5’9, 154 | 2024 I’m close with many at Bonner & Prendie and am excited to see [player_tooltip player_id="281296" first="Joseph" last="Sarjoo"] put on the Friar uniform next Fall. So much of what Sarjoo does well shows itself when he’s on the run. His short sophomore tape is littered with touch passes downfield while the kid is running from defenders. It takes a ton of time to develop accuracy on the run. Sarjoo is showing that and more. He’s got some excellent throws on film that come from awkward angles or not-so-clean launch points. We just want the easy things to come along. I also am happy to see that the sophomore continues to grow each time I see him. Pulling for him and hope to cover him for the rest of his B&P career. [player_tooltip player_id="281288" first="Zakii" last="Lewis"] | 6’0, 182 | 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="281288" first="Zakii" last="Lewis"] can’t be more underrated. I’m quickly becoming a fan after watching what he could do at the showcase. The Harrisburg junior is nothing short of an offensive weapon. His overall field awareness might be the best of this group, maybe the entire camp. His tape displays just how special he can be both throwing and running the football after a play breaks down. I didn’t know beforehand that Lewis could move the way he can. Excited to get this kid off the Watchlist and finally into the rankings. Long overdue. I’m expecting a big statistical year out of Lewis next Fall.
