In its seven-year history athletes have received nearly 8,000 Division 1 scholarship offers. NextGen All-America Showcase camps have quickly become one of the nation’s most respected Middle School and High School Underclassmen Showcase Camps.
Here is a look at the Quarterback prospects in the class of 2026 and 2027 that stood out to us.
Jackson Taylor Jackson Taylor 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Thousand Oaks | 2026 State CA | California | 2026
Already on the Prep RedZone Next Watch List, ahead of his appearance at NextGen Los Angeles, he’s going to be an elite quarterback prospect. Earlier this week picked up an offer from Oregon, to add to his growing list which already included Kentucky and Louisville. It set to play at Oaks Christian next year.
Brady Smigiel Brady Smigiel 6'4" | 175 lbs | QB Newbury Park | 2025 CA | California | 2026
Another quarterback already on the Pred RedZone Next Watch List, Smigiel left no doubt as to why he’s already one of the top 2026 signal caller prospects in the country. Stands 6-foot-4 and 175 pounds. Son of a coach. Has a twin brother that plays receiver. Already has an offer from Arizona, and is also getting attention from Florida State. Will be at Newbury Park.
Devin Rasmussen Devin Rasmussen 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Edison (Stockton) | 2026 State CA | California | 2026
Rounding out the trio of quarterbacks who already had a home on the Prep RedZone Next Watch List heading into the NextGen camp, Rasmussen was as advertised. Came to camp with a couple of his receivers which never hurts. Confident quarterback who can move in the pocket and make throws. Traveled 4 and a half hours from Nor.Cal for the camp.
Kreet Makihele | California | 2026
A new name of a quarterback to keep an eye on, Makihele did some things we liked. Doesn’t have the size of the previously three mentioned quarterbacks, but is every bit as athletic. Has the ability to move the pocket and give himself more room to make throws. I’d say he’s a dual-threat but likes to pass first. I think he throws a very nice intermediate to deep ball.
Daniel Mielke II | California | 2027
Mielke II is a prospect that has a lot of the pieces but is still putting it all together. There’s no doubt he has the size to be a prospect to watch at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds. He sees the game at an advanced level for a seventh grade quarterback. Needs to develop physically and athletically. He’s long and growing into his body. More strength work will do him wonders.
Brody Rudnicki | California | 2027
Rudnicki is a quarterback I had not heard of before the NextGen camp, but walked away impressed with. Not the biggest in terms of stature at just 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds, but he’s got a cannon for an arm. Well-built kid who made a number of impressive tosses and for his efforts, picked up an invitation to The Show.
Hayes Cloutier | California | 2027
QB1 for the South Coast Tritons of the Orange Empire Pop Warner Conference, Cloutier is one to keep an eye on as he develops. Doesn’t wow with any one thing but he seemed to just get the job done on every rep at the camp. Liked his ability to communicate with his receivers and build a natural chemistry. Has a bit of a distance to go, but has potential.
Gino Wang | California | 2027
The OG Ducks don’t take just anyone to be their quarterback, so when I saw Wang was going to be at camp I was intrigued. Measured in with good size at 5-foot-10. Liked what I saw in terms of accuracy from Wang, as he put the ball in places where his receivers had a chance to go and get it. Like most seventh grade quarterbacks needs more zip on the ball, but that will come with improved strength and growth.
