Throughout the month of February, we’re updating the prospect rankings in Oklahoma. We started with the 2022 class and then we updated the 2023 rankings with our new Top 125. The latest ranking update was an updated look at the 2024 Top 50 and later this week, we’ll release our first ever rankings on the 2025 class. After each ranking update, we’ll also have several posts breaking down the prospects. In this post, we take a look at a group of five prospects that are either newcomers to the rankings or prospects that significantly rose in the recent ranking update!
Kevon Robinson

Coweta | 2024
State
OK
– Wide Receiver – Coweta
Ranked #31 (Newcomer)
7v7 in the offseason is not the same as the football we see in the fall. So you can’t put to much weight on what we see during 7v7 tournaments but it does benefit prospects who have flown under the radar and are waiting to have their breakout opportunity. That’s the description for Coweta wide receiver Kevon Robinson Kevon Robinson 6'2" | WR Coweta | 2024 State OK , who is waiting to have that big moment for the Tigers moving forward and he should be one of their top wide receivers in the fall. Robinson really impressed us at the most recent 7v7 tournament we covered and was a consistent and physical receiver that won just about every match-up he was in. He was very impressive in a lot of ways as he made leaping catches and also plays after the catch, out running defenders. We can’t wait to see more of Robinson once the pads come on as he could be a breakout player for Coweta this fall.
Ladainian Fields
Ladainian
Fields
6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH
Del City | 2024
State
OK
– Wide Receiver – Southeast
Ranked #11 (Stock Riser)
We go from a potential breakout wide receiver in 5A to an established wide receiver in 5A with Southeast wideout Ladainian Fields Ladainian Fields 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Del City | 2024 State OK . Southeast certainly flies under the radar during most football seasons as it’s been a while since they’ve had consistent success on the gridiron. However, last year, Fields was one of the best wide receivers in 5A football and it didn’t matter who the Spartans were playing, Fields was one of the best players on the field. Because of that, Fields moved up in the rankings and was a borderline top ten prospect and one of the top wide receiver prospects in the recent update. We also got a chance to see a little bit of Fields on the basketball floor and you can see that the athleticism translates all around. We expect another big season from Fields and for him to be one of the leading receivers in 5A football this fall.
Simian Gilkey

Gilkey
6'3" | 175 lbs | QB
Jenks | 2024
State
OK
– Quarterback – Bartlesville
Ranked #26 (Stock Riser)
The only quarterback on this list is Bartlesville signal caller Simian Gilkey Simian Gilkey 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB Jenks | 2024 State OK . The 2024 class has quite a few quarterbacks that have already made an impact on Friday nights and Gilkey has a chance to be the best of the bunch. We first got a chance to see him in the spring of his freshman season. He immediately impressed with his arm strength, although at times it needed to be controlled a little more. After watching him on film and then getting a chance to see him again in person last month at our camp, Gilkey has improved mightily over the last 12 months. He still has that cannon attached to his shoulder but he has better control of it and has a better feel for the different throws that he has to make. Bartlesville is one of several teams in Class 6A-2 that could make a ton of noise not only this season but moving forward with a relatively young roster.
Will Smith
Will
Smith
6'4" | 240 lbs | DL
Choctaw | 2024
State
OK
– Defensive Lineman – Choctaw
Ranked #12 (Newcomer)
If you’re looking for a breakout star for the upcoming football season, we got one right here. We’re calling our shot and saying that Choctaw’s Will Smith Will Smith 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Choctaw | 2024 State OK will be one of the best emerging prospects on the defensive side of the ball. Why is that a bold prediction? We’ve seen very little of Smith on the football field. We’re basing this prediction on the small amount we have seen of him on the football field and primarily what we’ve seen from him as a basketball player. His explosiveness and raw athleticism is something that jumps off the charts when you watch him. With Choctaw losing Desean Brown Desean Brown 6'3" | DL Choctaw | 2022 State OK to graduation, they’ll need someone to replace that disrupter coming off the edge. We’re going with Smith to have a big offseason and become one of the top defensive linemen in the state’s 2024 class by the end of the 2022 football season.
Witt Edwards
Witt
Edwards
6'6" | 200 lbs | WR
Wagoner | 2024
State
OK
– Wide Receiver – Wagoner
Ranked #17 (Newcomer)
Wagoner has routinely been one of the top football programs over the last 15 seasons but somehow, their top prospects sometimes fly under the radar. That shouldn’t be the case for wide receiver Witt Edwards Witt Edwards 6'6" | 200 lbs | WR Wagoner | 2024 State OK , who is incredibly hard to overlook as he stands 6’5 and is incredibly impressive to look at when it comes to the physical measurables. It’s likely that Edwards becomes more of a tight end prospect when it comes to the next level but for now, we have him listed as a wide receiver. Wagoner is also traditionally a run-first team but when they did throw it in 2021, it was going to Edwards more times than not. Edwards was another prospect that impressed at our camp back in January. With his size and leaping ability, he was absolutely dominating undersized defensive backs in 1 on 1 situations. Edwards is going to be a name to watch moving forward.
