After taking a look at some of District 3’s top teams over the last several weeks, we’re going to move to District 4. Don’t worry if there’s a District 3 team that you think we should’ve covered and have not yet, feel free to let us know at @PrepRedzonePA or Dylan directly @DylanCC_FB on Twitter and we’ll look to add it to our list of future content.
To start our District 4 recaps, we start with arguably the best and most dominant program in the state of Pennsylvania, the Southern Columbia Area Tigers. The Tigers, non-shockingly won another state championship in 2021, their fifth consecutive state title. That being said, unlike the last few seasons, it was not a perfect season for the Tigers as they dropped a shocker midway through the season to Wyomissing to snap their 93-game winning streak.
Outside their lone loss to Wyomissing, the Tigers for the most part dominated their season, they survived one scare against Wyoming Area a few weeks prior to their loss to Wyomissing 37-30 but outside of that, cruised to victories. Here’s a full look at their schedule and results.
August 27: 43-0 win over Berwick
September 3: 41-0 win over Bloomsburg
September 10: 51-15 win over Loyalsock Township

October 8: 49-0 win to Central Columbia
October 15: 41-7 win to Hughesville
October 22: 49-7 win over Selinsgrove
October 30: 55-3 win over Danville
November 6: 62-14 win over Line Mountain (District 4 Playoffs)
November 13: 41-7 win over South Williamsport

Notable Prospects:

Before delving into Southern Columbia's notable prospects, we would like to note that we were unable to find any stats for the Tigers for the 2021 season.

2022 Prospects:

No.32 RB [player_tooltip player_id="27651" first="Gavin" last="Garcia"]
The Kent State signee was the focal point of the Southern Columbia offense this season. Garcia is a smaller running back at 5-foot-9 but weighs in at 185-pounds, giving him a great combination of size, speed, and shiftiness that made him one of the state's top running backs.
No.84 DL [player_tooltip player_id="87834" first="Derek" last="Berlitz"]
The defensive end / tight end will be headed to West Virginia to continue his football career as a walk-on with the Mountaineers. He's a terrific pickup for the Mountaineers with the ability and showed with Southern Columbia the ability to excel on both sides of the ball. All he did for the Tigers was make play after play and don't be shocked if he finds his way onto the field in some capacity in Morgantown.

2023 Prospects:

No.125 RB [player_tooltip player_id="160487" first="Braeden" last="Wisloski"]

Wisloski is someone I've actually become quite high on this offseason and will have him much further up my rankings come the next update. Already holding an offer from Syracuse, Wisloski was terrific for Southern Columbia as their backup running back, posting 963 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on just 80 carries. He'll be the Tigers lead back in 2022 and we're excited if he can continue to post similar numbers as the starter.
No.297 OL [player_tooltip player_id="248136" first="Chris" last="Treshock"]
Treshock is a big reason for Southern Columbia's success when it comes to running the ball, At 6-foot-2 and 275-pounds, he's an imposing offensive lineman for the Tigers and has shown the versatility to play both center and tackle. He also is a quality defensive lineman showing, adding to his versatility.
No.339 ATH [player_tooltip player_id="91811" first="Wes" last="Barnes"]
Barnes is an intriguing prospect that I was not too familiar with but after some research, I am quite a fan of him afterward. He's somebody we'll be keeping a close eye on this offseason and upcoming season to see if he can move up our rankings.
