DB, Jaylen McClain Jaylen McClain 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Seton Hall | 2024 State NJ , Seton Hall Prep
6’0 180
Mr. McClain played well in 2021. He is a versatile athlete that was productive all around the secondary. He has a solid frame, speed and tackling ability. He recored 71 tackles and one interception this season. McClain has excellent balls skills and plays with good technique. He plays with good eyes that allow him to stay in phase with receivers. He does a good job recognizing plays during his pre-snap read. McClain is a real student of the game and doesn’t shy away from contact. McClain could be a riser for the 2022 season.
DB, Matt Kraft, Bishop Eustace
5’11 175
Mr. Kraft had a phenomenal sophomore season. He shutdown opponents best receivers and made plenty of big plays. Kraft is simply a ball hawk and does a good job playing with good instincts. He has really good ball skills and cover ability. Kraft finished the year with 6 interceptions. He had a record breaking day against Holy Cross Prep where he picked off three passes. Kraft has the ability to be one of top defensive backs in the state. Expect Kraft to have a big 2022 season.
DB, Tareq Council Tareq Council 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Toms River North | 2024 State NJ , Toms River North
6’3 180
Mr. Council had a solid year contributing to their playoff appearance. Council has good size, athleticism and quickness. He has long arms to disrupt receivers in their routes. Council finished the year with two interceptions and one returned for a touchdown. He has good skill set and showed flashes of big time playmaking ability. Council has a good body type and has time to fill his frame. Watch out for Council to make some noise in 2022.
DB, Austin Quant, Delbarton
5’11 180
Mr. Quant put together a solid season. He is a tough and quick athlete that can play numerous positions in the secondary. Quant recorded four tackles and two tackles for loss. He has tremendous upside and could see a lot more production next season. Quant made the best of his opportunities and proved he can compete. He is poised for a huge 2022 season.
