Livonia Franklin TE Drew Kelbert Drew Kelbert 6'3" | 225 lbs | TE Livonia Franklin | 2024 State MI
The 6’3 Sophomore TE had himself a nice season and is one of the few “true” tight ends in this class. What I mean by “true” tight end is that he has a great balance of blocking and receiving, being able to block like a lineman but at the same time run routes and make catches. In terms of the receiving end, Kilbert is a big, physical body that is able to run decent routes and go over the top on some balls, making him a textbook tight end. On the blocking end, you can’t tell him apart from his other linemen as he’s able to be a physical, powerful lineman with good leverage and footwork.
Belleville LB/RB Jeremiah Beasley Jeremiah Beasley 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Belleville | 2024 State MI
It’s very well documented that Belleville has plenty of talent, and that was truly showcased during the D1 State Championship. Beasley is a monster at forcing turnovers, as he often goes the extra mile to make sure he makes an effort to strip the ball when he can. In addition, the play recognition and physicality are absolutely elite. Offensively, I’m very impressed with Beasley’s ability to run with unrelenting physicality and effort, always keeping his feet moving no matter what. He’s a great all-around linebacker and running back and will be high on the 2024 rankings once they drop.
Dearborn DE/RB Evin Fencil Evin Fencil 6'2" | 210 lbs | DL Dearborn | 2024 State MI
Fencil is an athlete with a high ceiling, especially on the defensive side of the ball. His play recognition and general IQ is impressive, as he’s able to consistently set the edge well, and make good, sound tackles. There are many highlights in which he defends option plays exceptionally well, always getting to the ball carrier or knowing exactly where to go to blow the play up. The only big thing that is unproven to me is how he performs against some great linemen, specifically how effective his speed/finesse moves are.
Fordson ATH Ali Hammoud
Hammoud plays many important roles for the Tractors, as he’s a great DB, WR, and excellent kicker. He’s primarily a defensive back, being excellent in zone, man, and even with stopping the run. All of the fundamentals are there for a very high ceiling at the defensive level. He plays some great competition, so he’ll surely have opportunities to prove his worth. As for kicking, he has a big leg and can hit from 40+ yards out.
