On Thursday night in Canton we saw Winton Woods upend defending state champs Archbishop Hoban 21-10. I will detail the top performing recruits below. Winton Woods LB, Qierstin Williams 6'0 230 (2023) - Had a monster game on Thursday night and paced the defensive with 7 total tackles. He is a big player with good toughness and physicality. He could play down in college if need be. He runs well and takes on blocks like a DL. He reads and reacts quickly and makes good tackles at the LOS. Rushes the passer with good quickness and bend. Rising star in the 2023 class. DL, Jayron Gibson 6'0 248 (2022) - Jayron led the DL on Thursday night. He is very quick off the snap and fires his hands, half a man, very quickly into the blockers. He plays with a flat back and bowed neck. He gets to lockout easily and sheds quickly. He has great bend in his pass rush and is relentless. Very athletic in all phases and will be a great next level player. Archbishop Hoban DB, Davion Jennings 5'10 170 (2022) - Davion has a 3.5 GPA and runs a 4.5 forty. He is a lock down CB with great athletic ability and toughness to go along with it. He has great technique on the outside and makes plays with the ball in the air. Has no trouble staying on top of routes and being in phase. He is a great zone corner as well using his eye discipline to break when needed. He is very quick in transition and is a force against the run. DL, Jordan Pritchard-Sewell 6'2 265 (2024) - Rising superstar in the class of 2024. Plays beyond his years. Comes off the snap very quickly getting his hands on first routinely. Reads blocks well and sheds easily. Plays with the flat back and creates new lines of scrimmage. He is a very good pass rusher with the relentless nature. Never stopped his motor on Thursday night. Keep a good eye on him the rest of the way.
