King of the Castle – Nathaniel Johnson Nathaniel Johnson 6'5" | 305 lbs | OL Belleville | 2024 State MI
With offers from Kentucky and Maryland, Johnson is currently the best offensive lineman in the class of 2024. Standing at a towering 6’5″ 305lbs, Johnson has incredible technique and power. It doesn’t hurt that he’s being coached by some of the best coaches in the state at Belleville!
Hidden Gem – Evan Curtiss Evan Curtiss 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Fowler | 2024 State MI
Representing Division 8 and Fowler High School, Curtiss has what is perhaps the best tape out of any offensive lineman. His highlights are 7 minutes of him embarrassing opposing defenders, racking up dozens upon dozens of pancakes. At 6’4″ 235lbs, Curtiss has real college potential. His strength is, well, his physical strength as he’s able to overpower just about any linemen he’s going to face. His biggest weaknesses on the other hand are his skill against good speed/ finesse rushers, and the lack of competition he faces. Curtiss would benefit greatly from any lineman showcase/camp, though I understand that Fowler isn’t anywhere close to Metro Detroit or Grand Rapids- where most of these camps are. In addition, Curtiss deserves invites to these camps! Truly a gem that has great potential, with great strengths but glaring weaknesses.
Another Gem – Richard Wiggins IV Richard Wiggins IV 5'8" | 225 lbs | DL Fruitport | 2024 State MI
I had the chance to watch Wiggins and Fruitport play against a great team with Cadillac, and Wiggins did amazing against great linemen. Wiggins and Curtiss couldn’t be any different, with Wiggins sporting incredible technique, agility, with great competition, while lacking in size and power, only standing at 5’8″.
Close at the top
Even though Johnson is the current #1, there are 6 favorites that could take that spot. These guys are – Andrew Dennis Andrew Dennis 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Mount Pleasant | 2024 State MI , Jaylen Washington Jaylen Washington 6'3" | 270 lbs | OL Cass Tech | 2024 State MI , Jacob Kropchak Jacob Kropchak 6'5" | 305 lbs | OL Stoney Creek | 2024 State MI , Ryan Ross Ryan Ross 6'3" | 310 lbs | OL De La Salle Collegiate | 2024 State MI , and Davonta Love Davonta Love 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Chippewa Valley | 2024 State MI . The offensive line was surely one of the toughest position groups to rank, as the top of the list is incredibly competitive!
