Dominate the Division – Camden Catholic
In this article:
When I drove my son and his two teammates to Pitt this summer for a prospect Camp, I had no idea I had three All Division Champions in the car with me. The Irish dominated the division, going 5-0 in league play and making the playoffs for the first time in Head Coach Gary Onuekwusi’s tenure. Camden Catholic had 6 players make the All Constitution Division team, many of them are drawing interest from D1 programs.
Kye Pressley Kye Pressley 6'2" | 205 lbs | DL Hammonton | 2023 State NJ , Jr., DE, 1st Team All Division
One of the hallmarks of the Camden Catholic Defense this year was Tackles for Loss, and Kye was a big part of that with 12 in their 10 game season. He is equally effective in a three point or standing up, exploding off the edge for 12 sacks on the season. Kye has proven to also be a heady and disruptive player. He has long arms and excellent hand fighting skills, often through multiple defenders to get into passing lanes Along with getting to the QB he had 8 pass deflections this season. While his prowess as a pass defender was a huge part of his success, he was also successful in the run. He converts speed to power well but is under control and keeps his outside contain, forcing ball carries wide for safeties and linebackers to get home and adding 16 solo tackles on his own. Congratulations are also in order as Kye has recently been rated a 3-star by a national recruiting service, has a D1 offer from Duke has drawn interest from Costal Carolina, Northwestern and Stanford.

George Inge II, Jr., CB 1st Team All Division
George has the height and length that D1 teams are looking for as proven by hits interest from Michigan and Virginia Tech, plus an offer from Maryland. He’s also an aggressive, in your face man cover corner. When you watch his film you often find him nose to nose with receivers, redirecting their routes off the line and being physical with them the whole way. He is also great in space and can play tight or off equally effective. Inge has elite footwork and fluid hips which enables him to stay stuck to receivers on slants and comeback routes, often getting his hand on balls that would be easy completions against most corners. Most corners can be slim at this age, but George worked hard in the offseason to get to a solid 185 pounds, allowing him to be strong with WRs in the run game and stopping outside runs before they get started. George has drawn interest from teams like Michigan, Virginia Tech and Kent State and already has D1 offers from Cambell and Maryland.

Marques Hicks Marques Hicks 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ , Jr., RB, 1st Team All Division
Marques is one of the top RBs in the state according to the PrepRedzone 2023 prospect lists coming off of a 1000 yard campaign as a sophomore. Most High school running backs are big or fast but not both, but that’s what makes Marques special. At 195 pounds you can see him lowering the shoulder and running through tackles that would stop most backs and yet he still has the speed to outrun angles and take it to the house, as shown by his 8.6 yards per carry and 15 touchdowns this year. Marques is known as an inside runner, but he only starts inside as he is very adept at reading defenses in Camden Catholic’s zone blocking scheme and bursting to the second level. The Irish had much more of a passing game this year and he showed a knack for picking up blocks in pass protection and in run blocking for his fellow teammates. Marques has drawn interest from several D1 teams including Penn State, Virginia Tech, Rutgers an ACC champion Pitt and has an offer from Temple.

Kevin Burr, Jr., QB, 2nd Team All Division
Kevin is a big armed QB who loves to push the ball down field as evidenced by having long completions of 44, 52 and 56 yards this season. He’s not afraid to pull the trigger and give his receivers and opportunity to make plays either. His film shows him throwing over the middle into tight windows and even hitting receivers going out of the endzone for impressive touchdowns. Kevin is a threat to run as well shown by his 8 carry, 70 yard game against Pennsauken and his game against Winslow with 80 yards and a rushing touchdown. Kevin has drawn interest from Dartmouth and Virginia Tech.

Jonathan Murff-Graham, Jr., DL, 2nd Team All Division
Jonathan is explosive, with violent hands and is strong at the point of attack. He is equally effective from the 3 or the 5 technique and is exceptional and beating his man and getting flat behind the line of scrimmage for a whopping 20 Tackles for Loss. I love his relentless pursuit. In the last game of the season, Murff was an absolute terror, accounting for 14 tackles/6 solo, 4 TFLs and 4 Sacks! His presence is felt all over the field this year as he had 38 total tackles, 2 forced fumbles, a blocked punt, a blocked field goal and a touchdown playing at fullback. Jonathan has drawn D1 interest from Ivy league champion, Dartmouth.

Jurius Clark, Sr., WR/RB/FS, 2nd Team All Division
Jurius did it all this year accounting for 890 total yards and being named all-conference at Wide Receiver. His versatility was on full display during the Bishop Eustace game where he had 77 yards rushing for 2 TDs, a 33 yard reception for a TD. Against Haddon Heights, he put up 130 rushing yards, 84 receiving and 2 TDs. On defense he is a rangy free safety that also has the ability cover slot receivers one on one. The film shows how he comes down hard from the safety spot in the run game, denying ball carriers extra yardage with 45 tackles and 5 TFLs. Included in his already impressive season stats he had 2 INTs and a fumble recovery on the season in addition to returning kicks and punts for his team. Amazing season for Jurius and the Division Champion Camden Catholic Irish.
