<span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Chaparral vs Highland</strong></span>
For the second straight year, Chaparral will play Highland for the 6A state championship. Last season, Chaparral was able to edge out a 24-14 win over Highland in a game loaded with prospects. Not much has changed, as both teams have been explosive all season long and bring back two of the top 2022 QB’s in the state in [player_tooltip player_id="42815" first="Brayten" last="Silbor"] and [player_tooltip player_id="42818" first="Gage" last="Dayley"]. I believe the turnover ratio is going to be the deciding factor in this one. Both Chap and Highland have lethal offenses and have proven they can put up points on anyone in the state and score on command. So whichever defense can force the most turnovers will most likely bring it home, because both of these guys will absolutely capitalize on good field position. Chaparral went 6-4 in the regular season with losses to Queen Creek, Hamilton, Brophy, and Liberty, but these guys are a different breed once the playoffs kickoff. They’ve put up 109 points throughout the playoffs thus far, and will probably come out like they always do with guns blazing. Highland went 7-3 in the regular season with losses to Hamilton, Basha, and a close 7-10 loss to Chandler. Although [player_tooltip player_id="42818" first="Gage" last="Dayley"] and Highland's offense is super explosive, that Highland defense has stepped up big throughout the playoffs allowing just 21 points in three postseason matchups. We’ll see if Highland can turn it around and reverse the story this season on Saturday night at Sun Devil Stadium, but Chap wants nothing more than to bring home back-to-back titles back to Scottsdale.
