<em>Torrey Pines showed they have the talent to compete with 1-seed Carlsbad when the two played in one of the games of the year in October. With Torrey looking to avenge their 34-33 earlier in the season, here are some of the standouts on both sides of the ball for the Falcons:</em> <strong>Remi Baere- QB, 2023</strong> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Baere has been an efficient passer in a run-heavy scheme during his junior season. He’s shown a strong arm and accuracy on intermediate to deep throws. He works well out of play-action and can put velocity or touch on the ball to fit it into tight windows. Baere threw for 4 TDs in one of his most impressive performances of the season in their first matchup against Carlsbad.</span> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="und">🎯 <a href="https://twitter.com/BaereRemi?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@BaereRemi</a> <a href="https://t.co/MhS23CwPvb">pic.twitter.com/MhS23CwPvb</a></p> — Wyatt Gardner (@WyattGardner23) <a href="https://twitter.com/WyattGardner23/status/1444795256235433984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 3, 2021</a></blockquote> <a href="http://blockquote%20class=twitter-tweetp%20lang=und%20dir=ltr🎯%20a%20href=https://twitter.com/BaereRemi?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw@BaereRemi/a%20a%20href=https://t.co/MhS23CwPvbpic.twitter.com/MhS23CwPvb/a/p—%20Wyatt%20Gardner%20(@WyattGardner23)%20a%20href=https://twitter.com/WyattGardner23/status/1444795256235433984?ref_src=twsrc%5EtfwOctober%203,%202021/a/blockquote%20script%20async%20src=https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js%20charset=utf-8/script"><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></a> <strong>Wyatt Gardner- ATH, 2022</strong> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Gardner is an athlete and playmaker on both sides of the ball at DB and slot-back. He shows great ball skills and instincts at both positions. He’s a skilled receiver that creates space with crisp, crafty route-running and can challenge DBs vertically with his speed. Gardner made a big impact in the first meeting between these teams posting nearly 100 receiving yards and 2 TDs.</span> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="und">Wyatt Gardner 🤯‼️ <a href="https://twitter.com/TPHS_FOOTBALL?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@TPHS_FOOTBALL</a> <a href="https://t.co/VqhqGfKnmm">pic.twitter.com/VqhqGfKnmm</a></p> — San Diego Football Network (@sdfootball) <a href="https://twitter.com/sdfootball/status/1446683131281502208?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 9, 2021</a></blockquote> <a href="http://blockquote%20class=twitter-tweetp%20lang=und%20dir=ltrWyatt%20Gardner%20🤯‼️%20a%20href=https://twitter.com/TPHS_FOOTBALL?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw@TPHS_FOOTBALL/a%20a%20href=https://t.co/VqhqGfKnmmpic.twitter.com/VqhqGfKnmm/a/p—%20San%20Diego%20Football%20Network%20(@sdfootball)%20a%20href=https://twitter.com/sdfootball/status/1446683131281502208?ref_src=twsrc%5EtfwOctober%209,%202021/a/blockquote%20script%20async%20src=https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js%20charset=utf-8/script"><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></a> <strong>Easton Clements- ATH, 2023</strong> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Clements has enjoyed a breakout junior season as a two-way standout at WR/DB. He’s big (6’5, 265 lbs.), extremely physical, and plays with a high motor. He has the strength to overpower OTs and can fight off double teams making plays in the backfield. Rowell, who had 2 sacks in their first meeting, will be a key piece of Torrey’s plan to slow down blue-chip QB [player_tooltip player_id="115456" first="Julian" last="Sayin"] and their highly effective offense.</span> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Lots of passion and energy for this game!! 2 sacks friday, left it all out there fell short we gonna bounce back💯 <a href="https://t.co/2exH6o5j4N">pic.twitter.com/2exH6o5j4N</a></p> — [player_tooltip player_id="141881" first="Zach" last="Rowell"] (@rowell_zach) <a href="https://twitter.com/rowell_zach/status/1445099147623743495?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 4, 2021</a></blockquote> <a href="http:/blockquote%20class=twitter-tweetp%20lang=en%20dir=ltrLots%20of%20passion%20and%20energy%20for%20this%20game!!%202%20sacks%20friday,%20left%20it%20all%20out%20there%20fell%20short%20we%20gonna%20bounce%20back💯%20a%20href=https://t.co/2exH6o5j4Npic.twitter.com/2exH6o5j4N/a/p—%20Zach%20Rowell%20(@rowell_zach)%20a%20href=https://twitter.com/rowell_zach/status/1445099147623743495?ref_src=twsrc%5EtfwOctober%204,%202021/a/blockquote%20script%20async%20src=https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js%20charset=utf-8/script"><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></a> <span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="143113" first="Griffin" last="Grant"]- <strong>DB, 2022 </strong></span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Grant is a talented leader at SS for Torrey’s secondary. He has good size (6’4, 200 lbs.) and athleticism and eats up ground covering over the top. He’s shown physicality tackling downhill and good closing speed.
