Unity Christian RB Abraham Rappuhn
With 199 yards and three touchdowns, Rappuhn led the offensive charge in the 58-8 beatdown of Edwardsburg. I was able to watch Rappuhn earlier in the season as Unity Christian took on West Catholic, and he was sensational in that one and quite frankly, un underrated talent in the Grand Rapids area. He’s a weapon that they utilize well and he’s set to have a great state championship performance.
Rochester Adams QB/SS Parker Picot
Picot quietly had an incredible game for the Highlanders totaling over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Surprisingly, 3 of the 4 touchdowns were by the air and you just don’t see that much running a veer offense. Picot’s football IQ was on full display as he made great veer reads, and delivered accurate passes when it mattered most. There were many times where Grand Blanc loaded the box and begged Picot to pass the ball, and Picot and the coaching staff responded by torching the Grand Blanc secondary for 3 touchdowns. I’m very curious to see how Belleville approaches the Adams offense.
Chelsea QB Lucas Dunn
Dunn had to play very well to earn his team a state championship bid, and he did just that going 13 of 18 with 201 yards with 2 TD’s on the day. The Chelsea quarterback has played very well as of late leading the bulldogs to some very close victories. I’m impressed by the throw power and general decision making in the pocket, and I’m very interested to see what he does against a generational Unity Christian team.M
Traverse City Central QB/MLB Joshua Burnham Joshua Burnham 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Traverse City Central | 2022 State MI
3 rushing touchdowns, 193 yards. and an interception plus over a dozen tackles. This seems impressive, but in actuality is light work for the Notre Dame commit. Burnham is my pick for player of the year, and I’m beyond excited to see him face off against an incredible De La Salle team. Burnham is the most dominant player I’ve watched all year as he’s an extremely hard runner and has incredible linebacker instincts.
