Lansing Catholic DB Jack Jacobs
Jacobs was great all game playing lockdown defense as well as having 5 tackles, a critical forced fumble, and a pass breakup. The forced fumble, in particular, was in the 4th quarter of this very competitive game, and it came during a would-have-been huge play for Michigan Collegiate.
Lansing Catholic DB Dan Shipman
Shipman came up big with an interception and had 4 tackles on the day. What a day it was for the Junior as he was a great help for that lockdown defense.
Michigan Collegiate QB Deion Black
Now, I just went on and on about how Lansing Catholic’s defense, especially defensive backs, had an incredible game. But I promise you, the heart this kid showed on the field especially in crunch time was special. Still, he threw for 220 yards and a touchdown, with a few very late game picks on plays he had to take risks on. I was also impressed by how he carried himself after the game and during the postgame press conference.
