Huntley’s regular season record: 52-15
Dana Hills vs. El Modena
Analysis: Dana Hills is a fun to team to watch because they throw the ball 75 percent of the time and take a lot of deep shots. The Dolphins are making their first playoff appearance since 2013 and are seeking their first playoff win since 2009. [player_tooltip player_id="187268" first="Bo" last="Kelly"] is one of the leaders in the Southern Section in passing and Omarjaye Black will be one of the best athletes on the field in this game. El Modena just went through the gauntlet of the CrestView League. Jack Keays is a dual threat quarterback for the Vanguards and Owen Smith can gash defenses on the ground. Keep an eye on El Modena freshman quarterback Xzavior Guess who makes appearances in games and can make big plays. Dana Hills is not as good as the teams in the CrestView League El Modena just played.

Mira Costa vs. Pacifica
Analysis: This game all depends on which Mira Costa team shows up. If the Mira Costa team that took Loyola to the end of the game shows up, they have a chance. The Mustangs are coming off three consecutive wins against Washington Union, Peninsula and Redondo Union. Reese Leonard can make plays on offense and Archie Iacono is a good pass rusher. Pacifica is led by prolific quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="39430" first="Darius" last="Cowens"] who has 24 passing touchdowns and 11 rushing touchdowns. Jeremiah Ingram and [player_tooltip player_id="147762" first="Jordan" last="Ross"] are better skill players than anyone Mira Costa has. This game will likely be a one-score game and Mira Costa has more experience in close games than Pacifica does, but Pacifica has more talent.

Yorba Linda vs. Bishop Amat
Analysis: Bishop Amat is the best team in the San Gabriel Valley and its fans are extremely confident heading into this game. Amat fans always think nobody gives the Lancers credit and that Yorba Linda is a program that is beneath them. [player_tooltip player_id="145208" first="Delano" last="Franklin"] is the best player on the field in this game. Bishop Amat has beaten the teams it was supposed to beat this season and lost to the teams they were supposed to lose to. Yorba Linda has underrated quarterback Reyn Beal and a good defense led by Wyatt Mosier. If Amat underestimates Yorba Linda in this game, they are in for a surprise. Bishop Amat quarterback Tobin O’Dell is a game-time decision after suffering an injury in the last game. The Lancers are seeking their first playoff win since 2015.

Murrieta Valley vs. Edison
Analysis: Murrieta Valley has an elite passing offense led by quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="25258" first="Brandon" last="Rose"] and receiver [player_tooltip player_id="25360" first="Tiger" last="Bachmeier"]. The Nighthawks can score in bunches which means Edison can’t let its foot off the gas if it gets an early lead. Edison is healthy and playing well right now. Parker Awad is solid at quarterback, Troy Fletcher is a dynamic running back and [player_tooltip player_id="143118" first="Nico" last="Brown"] can hang with anyone athletically. Edison’s defense is disciplined and they can get in the backfield and cause Rose to make quick decisions with the ball. They have a common opponent in San Clemente. Murrieta Valley lost to San Clemente and Edison blew out the Tritons.

Simi Valley vs. Orange Lutheran
Analysis: Orange Lutheran is coming off a tough Trinity League slate where the Lancers finished in fifth place. [player_tooltip player_id="25295" first="Logan" last="Gonzalez"] is a quality quarterback for the Lancers and he is surrounded by good athletes like Desmin Jackson and Jaylen Lynch. Simi Valley is 10-0 and has a well-balanced offense. Caleb Alvary is among the rushing leaders in the Southern Section with 1,225 yards and 17 touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id="25325" first="Travis" last="Throckmorton"] plays quarterback for Simi Valley but has had some health issues and freshman Steele Pizzella has been getting more playing time lately. The pick: Charter Oak
La Serna vs. Orange
Analysis: La Serna started the season 0-2 and has won eight consecutive games since. Jake Long is at quarterback for La Serna and Owen Long is the running back. [player_tooltip player_id="141966" first="Jake" last="George"] is a very good receiver for La Serna as well. [player_tooltip player_id="141934" first="Zachary" last="Siskowic"] is playing well for Orange at quarterback and [player_tooltip player_id="115424" first="Kobe" last="Boykin"] is a dynamic playmaker in the run and pass game. The Panthers have good skill players in Arron "Jett" White, Justin Harris Jr. and Jakob Coleman. A fun matchup in this game is Orange receiver Corbin Hale facing off against his former team in La Serna. Orange has the state’s sack leader [player_tooltip player_id="186974" first="Blaze" last="Iglesias"], but he is suspended for this game for getting ejected from last week’s game against Santa Ana.
The pick: Orange
