Archbishop Moeller versus Lakota West
Moeller
The key cog that makes Cincinnati Moeller go is big 6’6 215 pound 2022 QB Noah Geselbracht. Geselbracht has had a strong senior campaign. He does a great job of distributing the ball to Moeller’s many playmakers. News has come out that this week that Moeller will be without it’s starting TE [player_tooltip player_id="34391" first="Josh" last="Kattus"] who’s committed to Kentucky. They have a luxury that not many other teams can boast in that they also have a wide receiver committed to D1 P5 in 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="34407" first="Brandon" last="White"] (West Virginia). 2023 Tennel Bryant is their other big time playmaker and has been Geselbracht’s favorite target this season. The combo of Bryant and White may be the fastest WR in the state if not the country as both are legit sub 4.4 guys. I expect Bryant to be a P5 commit before all is said and done. 2024 RB Jordan Marshall is a nice young back who shows good vision, patience, and burst.
Other players to watch
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="129154" first="Chase" last="Brown"] DE
2022 Kurt Thompson WR
2022 Isaiah Summerlin DB
The key to Moeller winning is to hit an explosive play or two that will loosen up the Lakota West defense for some sustainable offensive drives.
Lakota West
There’s no doubt what Lakota West’s identity is. They’re going to run a balanced offense and they’re going to play outstanding defense. Offensively they’re not explosive, but they’re efficient and when you play defense like they do, that’s enough to win a lot of games. Defensively their secondary is about as good as you’ll find anywhere. The headliner is 2022 CB [player_tooltip player_id="34377" first="Jyaire" last="Brown"] who will head up I-71 to Columbus next year to play for Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Brown is a long and athletic corner who loves to man up against opposing wr’s. The secondary also boast Kentucky commit [player_tooltip player_id="34385" first="Alex" last="Afari"]. Afari is a big and athletic corner at 6’3 that is very coveted in today’s game of football. [player_tooltip player_id="228407" first="Malik" last="Hartford"] is a 2023 DB that has blown up as of late with D1 P5 offers. Hartford also boast length in that of a 6’2 frame. The Firebirds also have 2022 DL [player_tooltip player_id="186345" first="Bryan" last="Henderson"] who’s headed to Buffalo.
Offensively West is lead by 2023 QB Mitch Bolden. Bolden is a not just a passer, but a runner. As a passer he’ll stick more to the short and intermediate passes, but he’s not afraid to take his shots deep. 2022 RB Cam Goode is a physical between the tackles runner. The offensive line is headed up by future Ohio State Buckeye 2022 OL [player_tooltip player_id="34373" first="Tegra" last="Tshabola"]. Tshabola is a huge offensive tackle at 6’6 350 pounds. He’s amazingly athletic for the huge human being he is.
The key to Lakota West winning is to limit the explosive plays and make Moeller earn their yards.
