Hillsboro won the first meeting between the two, 42-7, in Week 4. … Hillsboro escaped a 13-7 win against Festus last week thanks to a 10-yard TD run by [player_tooltip player_id="103445" first="Austin" last="Romaine"] with 1:13 left. That capped off a banner day for the junior, who had 232 yards on 25 carries. … North County junior RB [player_tooltip player_id="193116" first="Jobe" last="Smith"] ran for 5 TDs in a 56-20 win over Farmington. He ran the ball 11 times and finished with 338 yards on the ground – that’s almost 31 yards per tote.
<strong>District 2</strong>
No. 5 Union at No. 9 Vashon
One of three top-10 matchups for a district title … Union junior QB [player_tooltip player_id="196494" first="Liam" last="Hughes"] passed for 139 yards and 3 TDs – all coming in the 28-point second quarter. He also ran for a touchdown. … Vashon blasted Gateway STEM, 49-8, behind four TDs from junior QB [player_tooltip player_id="177543" first="Malious" last="Cain"] III. He threw for 253 yards, the most yards going to junior WR Zach Smith Jr., who had four catches for 184 yards.
<strong>District 3</strong>
Parkway North at No. 2 MICDS
Senior LB Gus Baisch had eight tackles, two sacks and two interceptions for MICDS in the win against Soldan. On the offensive side of the ball, junior RB Steven Hall ran for 131 yards on 11 carries and scored twice. Junior RB [player_tooltip player_id="37668" first="Winston" last="Moore"] had a TD run and TD catch, while senior QB Regan Andrew ran for two touchdowns and passed for another. … Parkway North ran for 253 yards in the win against University Academy last week, but there was one unique stat. The Vikings were 8-for-8 passing for 118 yards and TDs, using a trio of quarterbacks: Sam Boydston (2-for-2), Kobe Foster (4-4, 1 TD) and [player_tooltip player_id="37693" first="Quaran" last="Williams"] (2-2, 1 TD).

Hazelwood East at St. Dominic
Hazelwood East picked up a 27-22 win against Jennings and is the highest remaining seed but won’t get a home game this week due to MSHSAA not allowing them to host games due to the district’s COVID-19 protocols. … St. Dominic, the No 4 seed, got a 43-36 win against McCluer last week to reach the finals. Junior RB [player_tooltip player_id="101693" first="Jackson" last="Overton"] ran for 5 TDs, including the game winning score early in the fourth quarter. He carried the ball 34 times for 222 yards.
<strong>District 5</strong>
Jefferson City at No. 3 Hannibal
This is a rematch from Week 2, where Hannibal won 40-13. … Senior RB Kevion Pendelton had a banner day for Jefferson City in a 61-19 win over Kirksville last week. The team’s leading rusher padded that total with 244 yards on 22 carries and scored six times, giving him 24 TDs on the year. … Hannibal throttled Warrenton, 76-6, in the district semifinal last week. Sophomore defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="130203" first="Aneyas" last="Williams"] had 2 INTs and returned one for a 51-yard touchdown. Senior LB Rommel Pinner had two sacks, including a strip sack and recovery, for the Pirates.
<strong>District 6</strong>
No. 8 McDonald County at No. 4 West Plains
West Plains senior QB [player_tooltip player_id="96166" first="Dagen" last="Kenslow"] threw for 6 TDs in a 52-0 win over Logan-Rogersville. He was 16 for 21 for 269 yards and had a QB rating of 157.2, according to MaxPreps stats. Senior WR [player_tooltip player_id="174090" first="Josh" last="Leazer"] had only two catches for 12 yards, but both were for TDs. Junior [player_tooltip player_id="172411" first="Heston" last="Miller"] hauled in a 67-yard touchdown pass from Kenslow. … McDonald County senior QB [player_tooltip player_id="189048" first="Cole" last="Martin"] ran for a pair of touchdowns and threw three of them in a 48-21 win over Hillcrest.
<strong>District 7</strong>
No. 10 Nevada at No. 6 Lincoln College Prep
Nevada escaped with a 40-38 win over Bolivar last week to reach the finals. Junior QB Cade Beshore had two TD passes and ran for another, while junior Avious Steadman hit 20 TDs on the season with a pair of TD runs. …Lincoln College Prep got 2 TDs each from QB [player_tooltip player_id="206399" first="Zackary" last="Shelby"] and RBs [player_tooltip player_id="206401" first="Jayden" last="Sudduth"] and John ‘JB’ Price in a 41-14 win over Harrisonville.
<strong>District 8</strong>
Excelsior Springs at No. 1 Smithville
Excelsior Springs rolled up 471 yards of rushing in a 54-20 win over St. Joseph Lafayette last week. Junior QB Chance Moreland ran for 283 yards and 4 TDs and senior RB [player_tooltip player_id="224383" first="Amani" last="Robinson"] ran for 118 yards and 4 TDs as well. …. Smithville’s defense may be one of the best in the state. Through nine games, six teams teams have scored 10 or less points and the average points per game allowed is six. Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="96260" first="Cody" last="Simoncic"] had a pick six in last week’s 45-8 win over Kearney. The senior picked up an offer from Southeast Missouri State on Thursday and two Division II offers in the last week: Pittsburg State and Northwest Missouri State.
