Derrick Lawson – Winton Woods – WR – 6’4″ 180 lbs
Lawson is a big possession WR who helps extend drives. If you throw the ball up to him in his vicinity he’s going to come down with the ball. He’s a pretty good athlete but could use some strength training at the next level. He was awesome on Friday as he was torching the defense all night. He was hit with a long bomb TD to open the scoring and never looked back. He put up over 150-yards and the TD on the night.
Will Schulok – Turpin – QB – 6’3″ 170 lbs
Schulok is one of the better field generals in the area. He’s best when he can sit back and decipher what’s going on in front of him. He’s also a good enough athlete to extend plays and make something out of nothing. He was dialed in on Friday and didn’t miss many throws. He put up over 250-yards and 3 TDs as they fell just short on the night.
Christian Jackson – Fairfield – WR – 6’1″ 175 lbs
Jackson was really good on Friday. He’s dynamic and has a nice frame. They look to use him in a few different roles just to keep the defense from being able to hone in on one side of the field. Jackson caught a ball over the middle, took a shot, the defender bounced off, and Jackson raced 50-yards for the score. Jackson put up over 100-yards and the TD on the night.
Michael Molnar – Mason – QB – 6’2″ 190 lbs
Molnar started slow but got going in the middle of the game. The hostile environment threw off Mason’s whole team to start the game. They came out and were rusty. Once they settled down things got rolling. Molnar is a great athlete and can extend the play or run it. He didn’t miss many throws on Friday after he got rolling. He put up 200 passing yards and a TD and then added another TD on the ground.
Nez Fant – Withrow – QB – 5’10” 180 lbs
Fant put on one of the best performances of the year. He took Withrow up and down the field regularly. He was breaking plays with his legs and making great throws. His best play of the night, he rolled out to his left, reset his mechanics, and delivered a heat-seeking missile in the back of the endzone for the score. On the first drive of the second half, Fant busted a 49-yard TD run to put Withrow up another score. He put up over 300 total yards and 3 TDs on the night as they blew out Troy.
