Upper Arlington
Doak Buttermore DB, Upper Arlington (2022) – Doak had an outstanding night and he showed why he is one of the best players in Central Ohio. He does a tremendous job of commanding the defense from the safety position. He is really fast and triggers downhill very quickly. He gets after the ball carriers on inside and outside run. Takes on blocks well and sheds easily. He is very talented in pass coverage and can play equally well in zone and man schemes.
Pickerington Central
Kobi Gorman DT, Pickerington Central (2022) – Kobi is really talented at the DT position. He does a great job of coming off the ball low and hard and gets his hands up and through the blockers. He had a great game on Friday and got after it. He sheds blockers easily and does a good job reading the plays. He is a relentless pass rusher with good aggression and moves.
Western Brown
Drew Novak QB, Western Brown (2023) – Drew is the number 1 passer in the nation and stands 6’6″. He has put on a aerial display this year like no other. On Friday night he completed 39 passes on 54 attempts. He has an astonishing 4900 yards so far this season. Throws like a seasoned college veteran with good accuracy. He has a live arm and can spin it in tight windows or leave some touch on the ball if needed. He is very good inside and outside the pocket and can make all the throws. He is a sufficient runner and can hurt you with his legs. I am extremely impressed with him and after this season should have a bevy of offers to choose from.
Granville
Bobby Vahalik OL/DL (2022) – Bobby is a beast of a lineman. His motor goes the whole game. He was an integral part of a 289 yard rushing performance. He has great flexibility and positioning in his blocks. Can mash straight ahead and finesse on the outside runs. Bobby is a force on the other side of the ball as well. He gets to lockout quickly and sheds blocks easily. He is a great pass rusher and plays with a relentless nature
