Detroit MLK QB Dante Moore Dante Moore 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Detroit King | 2023 State MI (undecided)
The most talked-about ’23 name in the state of Michigan for sure. Moore has been a varsity starter since his freshman season, leading his team to the state championship that year after annihilating my alma mater in the state semifinals. Absolute elite intangibles with an incredibly high motor who works tirelessly on his craft. Moore is going to be able to go wherever he pleases for college, with many suspecting he’ll be an eventual early draft choice.
Traverse City Central QB/MLB Joshua Burnham Joshua Burnham 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Traverse City Central | 2022 State MI (Notre Dame)
I’ve said it dozens of times but I’ll say it again; Joshua Burnham Joshua Burnham 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Traverse City Central | 2022 State MI is the most dominant player I’ve watched all season. Standing at 6’4, 215lbs, Burnham is a huge body that has incredible drive and stamina. Burnham is also one of the highest IQ players I’ve seen as he makes good decisions at quarterback, and he’s the best linebacker in the state hands down. I am truly looking forward to the D2 state championship matchup where Traverse City Central will face by far the best team they’ve faced in De La Salle.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central WR/LB Nolan Ziegler Nolan Ziegler 6'4" | 205 lbs | DB Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2022 State MI (Notre Dame)
Very high motor, a blazing-fast athlete who stands at 6’4, 215 pounds like Burnham. Offensively there are very few defensive backs who can cover him, and none of which are in division 5. His superior route running and blazing 4.49 40 speed set him apart from the rest as he can consistently torch players. On the defensive end, his awareness is unmatched and is a great run stuffer and pass rusher. Chelsea is going to have a handful against this guy.
Belleville LB/ATH Aaron Alexander Aaron Alexander 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Belleville | 2022 State MI (Michigan)
Alexander has great skills as a pass rusher as well as a general run stopper. He’s tall, athletic, and displays excellent finesse moves at the line as well as a great IQ. A long, fast stride that makes him difficult to tackle. Can produce on both sides of the ball and is going to be a difference-maker against Adams.
DeWitt WR Tommy McIntosh Tommy McIntosh 6'4" | 180 lbs | WR DeWitt | 2022 State MI (Wisconsin)
Very big receiver standing at 6’5 with above-average agility and route running. During his recruiting process, McIntosh was approached by some teams, like Iowa, that wanted to make him into a tight end while others wanted him as a big receiver. He’s a physical receiver who can win 50/50 balls while also being surprisingly quick. I’m very interested in seeing how he plays against top competition against King in the D3 championship.
