We have some interesting things to watch in the first round of the playoffs. From QB matchups to RB matchups, all teams listed below are in 6A, which is the highest level of competition in PA.
Central York’s QB [player_tooltip player_id="27576" first="Beau" last="Pribula"] vs. Manheim Township’s QB [player_tooltip player_id="222655" first="Hayden" last="Johnson"]
Pribula took his team to the state championship last season but fell short. He is looking to make it back to the championship game for the 2nd straight year just looking for a different result Pribula played 9 games of Central York’s 10 games. In those games, he’s completed 75.7% of his passes with a minimum of 120 attempts. He threw 2,100 yards with 30 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Manheim Township’s sophomore QB Johnson is a guy that can go toe-to-toe with Pribula. Johnson has led his team to a 6-4 record. On the season, (not included this past Friday’s game, no stats available yet) he completed 69.9& of his passes with a minimum of 200 attempts. He’s thrown for 1,840 yards and 24 touchdowns with 6 interceptions. I’m very interested in how this game turns out with the quarterback play.

Archbishop Wood Vikings Look for Revenge on St. Joe’s Prep Hawks
Archbishop Wood and St. Joe’s Prep faced off a few weeks ago and St. Joe’s came out with the victory. St. Joe’s has been up and down this season, which is uncharacteristic so it would not be surprising if Archbishop Wood comes out with a victory in the re-match. St. Joe’s scores 30.5 points/game while Archbishop Wood gives up 17.4 points/game. The Vikings score 22.3 points/game while the Hawks give up 14 points/game. This game will come down to the team with fewer mistakes.
St. Joe’s Key Players: QB [player_tooltip player_id="164520" first="Samaj" last="Jones"], WR [player_tooltip player_id="141016" first="David" last="Washington Jr"], DE [player_tooltip player_id="146677" first="James" last="Heard"], DT Richard James, LB [player_tooltip player_id="27736" first="Josiah" last="Trotter"], CB Keenan Nelson, CB Omilio Agard
Archbishop Wood Key Players: QB [player_tooltip player_id="164150" first="Mekhi" last="Wharton"], RB [player_tooltip player_id="27741" first="James" last="Bermudez"]. TE [player_tooltip player_id="140949" first="Markus" last="Dixon"], WR [player_tooltip player_id="27570" first="Emmanuel" last="Sia"], DL [player_tooltip player_id="140967" first="Eric" last="Gardner"], LB [player_tooltip player_id="27734" first="Semaj" last="Bridgeman"]
Wison’s RB [player_tooltip player_id="69212" first="Jadyn" last="Jones"] Vs. William Penn’s (York) RB [player_tooltip player_id="87079" first="Jahiem" last="White"]
Both running backs will be a major factor Friday night in this playoff matchup. Jones has carried the ball 146 times for 974 yards and 11 touchdowns. The last time I checked White has rushed the ball for 1,507 yards with 22 touchdowns. Both these backs are physical players and will try to gain every yard possible.
