Jaylen Johnson Jaylen Johnson 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Grand Blanc | 2023 State MI does a great job of separating from defensive backs, especially on go routes. In the semi-final game against Adams, Johnson had a tremendous catch where he went up and pulled down the football away from the defender. Johnson has shown the versatility to line up in the slot and on the outside. He had a great game in the district championship win over Howell. Jaylen Johnson Jaylen Johnson 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Grand Blanc | 2023 State MI will look to continue this great play next year for Grand Blanc.
#3 Mac VandenHout Mac VandenHout 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Rockford | 2023 State MI | WR | Rockford | Hudl
VandenHout is the type of guy the coaching staff loves to have on their team. He can line up and play multiple positions on offense and create big plays for his team. VandenHout had a good game in the big 38-7 District championship win over Grandville. VandenHout found the endzone on a 29-yard touchdown reception where he flew past the defense. VandenHout also had a great 21-yard catch over the middle in the Regional Final game against Grand Blanc.
#1 Semaj Morgan Semaj Morgan 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR West Bloomfield | 2023 State MI | WR | West Bloomfield | Hudl
Morgan is a good route runner who combines his speed and quickness to get open fast. Morgan showed great ability to make defenders miss after the catch in the Regional-Final game against Adams. I love when receivers make an effort to work back to the football. Semaj Morgan Semaj Morgan 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR West Bloomfield | 2023 State MI returns next year to a great program who will be eying big things in 2022.
#1 Scooter Polk | WR | Mount Pleasant | Hudl
Polk played a great game in the District championship game against DeWitt. Polk had a big gain on a well-run-out route in the DeWitt game. Polk showed off his athleticism, throwing a 32-yard strike on an end-around trick play in the DeWitt game as well. Polk was so competitive in this game against DeWitt. He also played cornerback and did a great job in coverage. Look for more great plays from Polk in 2022.
#8 Bryce Kurncz | WR | DeWitt
Kurncz made several great plays that helped DeWitt get the State Semi-Final win over St. Joseph. Kurncz had a touchdown in the game and also got snaps at the quarterback position. Kurnz played a big role in the District championship win over Mount Pleasant, coming down with a couple of key catches. Kurncz is a likely candidate to replace DeWitt senior quarterback Tyler Holtz next season.
These are just a few of the many skilled receivers returning next season. These guys all are on teams that have a chance to do big things next year for their respective teams.
