This was a big game for both teams with a win, still hoping to make the playoffs, but with a loss, playoff hopes to look very bleak. It was a defensive battle through the first quarter and a half. Peters Township started running away with it at the early-to-mid second quarter.
West Allegheny’s junior [player_tooltip player_id="64024" first="Nodin" last="Tracy"] scored the Indians’ first and only touchdown of the game with 4:12 left in the first quarter. The play that set up the Tracy touchdown was junior safety Nico Taddy. who recovered a fumble on a bad snap. He also had a pass breakup and was in on a few tackles. West A’s run game was held in check all game. It was Peters Township senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="186269" first="Luke" last="Petrarca"] who made the difference. He was all over the backfield making tackles for loss. Petrarca has a few FCS offers and an FBS offer with Akron. West A’s passing game was very ineffective,
For Peters Township, their first touchdown came from senior Ethan Kirsch on a 2-yard run to tie the game with 7:45 left in the second quarter. On the next possession, he scored on a 1-yard run to take the lead and Peters Township never looked back. It was junior running back Richie Woods who got most of the carries though. Woods has some quickness and speed; I see him being a D2/FCS player. [player_tooltip player_id="186269" first="Luke" last="Petrarca"] also caught a 13-yard TD pass in the third quarter. West Allegheny freshman standout [player_tooltip player_id="209027" first="Brock" last="Cornell"] had a few tackles as well but did not have much of an impact like in previous games. The final score of this game was 30-7.
