We have a nearly 350 yard rusher, a 250+ yard rusher, versatile athletes that can win on the ground or through the air, multiple receivers putting up 150 yards, and several other impressive performances that ensured Round One victories for their respective teams. We have several athletes to highlight, so let’s get into the film!
Colin O’Neil Colin O’Neil 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Cashton | 2023 State WI , ’23 RB- Cashton
Stat Line: 16 Carries, 151 Yards, 3 TDs
The 5’10″ 170 lbs, junior workhorse is back with another strong performance out of the backfield! Colin demonstrated his always moving forward style of play this week. He did a good job of finding and running to daylight. O’Neil has always been a player who plays bigger than he is. He doesn’t have to slow down once he gets rolling because he doesn’t utilize a ton of jukes or lateral agility. Instead he relies on his strength to rip through arm tackles and long speed to be able to win races down the sideline for big gains. Check out his round one highlights! Colin’s Level One Highlights
Connor Kelly Connor Kelly 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Germantown | 2022 State WI , ’22 WR- Germantown
Stat Line: 2 Receptions, 76 Yards, 2 TDs
I’ve been a big fan of Connor’s since I first wrote about him this past spring. I was expecting a big year from him as he moved into a larger role and he has responded by putting out strong film on a consistent basis. During Level One of the playoffs the 6’ 185 lbs senior WR let his 4.65 speed shine. His first reception was just him simply outrunning everyone down the field and hauling in the pass. His second reception shows him winning with that speed and acceleration out of the cut of the post route down the seam. I also really like that Kelly hasn’t lost what first caught my attention last spring. The fact that he is willing to do the dirty work, like blocking effectively in the run game. Connor’s Level One Highlights
Dawson Rud Dawson Rud 5'7" | 170 lbs | RB Mondovi | 2023 State WI , ’23 RB- Mondovi
Stat Line: 20 Carries, 157 Yards, 2 TDs
The 5’8″ 165 lbs junior RB excels at attacking the edges of the defense. His 4.57 40 yard dash time carries over to game action, and it allows him to break contain and erase pursuit angles from LBs as he gets to the sideline and then either flies down the sideline or uses his agility and elusiveness to make DBs miss in the open field. Dawson perfectly fits the third down/ change of pace back role at the next level. Allow him to play out in space instead of having to carry the load and you will be rewarded with exciting, big plays. Definitely a name to know for the remainder of the playoffs and heading into the offseason! Dawson’s Level One Highlights
Simon Bauer Simon Bauer RB Durand | 2022 WI , ’22 RB- Durand
Stat Line: 20 Carries, 202 Yards, 3 TDs
This is an RB that I have been waiting to see the highlights for! The 5’8″ 160 lbs senior ball carrier has been the most productive back in the state of Wisconsin this fall. He leads the state in rushing yards with 2,351 yards, and is second with 34 TDs. The compact RB plays with a low center of gravity that has allowed him to pick up a ton of yards after contact this past week, and all season long. Simon also has the vision, and speed, to be able to bounce runs to the outside and once he hits daylight he can accelerate quickly to top speed. I highly recommend taking a look at him. Here is the link to his highlight page! Simon’s Highlight Page
Max Ringwall Max Ringwall 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Eisenhower | 2022 State WI , ’22 ATH- New Berlin Eisenhower
Stat Line: 25 Carries, 120 Yards, 1 TD
The 6’ 180 lbs athlete has well balanced game as an RB. He has a good frame for the position, he is decisive with the ball in his hands, and he blends power with acceleration and speed very well. Max can effectively carry the rock between the tackles and out on the edge. His instincts and vision allow him to quickly scan and find the hole. When he does this between the tackles he is able to translate that acceleration into power as he breaks through tackles and drags defenders for extra yards. When he uses that vision out wide and sticks his foot in the ground, Max looks like he’s been shot out of a cannon as he flies through to daylight. Ringwall is a senior to check out. He also can play as a DB. He’s definitely an under the radar senior to know! Max’s Round One Highlights
Daniel Hornacek, ’22 RB- Green Bay Notre Dame
Stat Line: 43 Carries, 348 Yards, 4 TDs
The 5’11″ 170 lbs senior RB carried the load on Friday night! He did it in every way possible too. Daniel churned out the tough yards between the tackles, he moved the pile, he made defenders miss out in space, he made something out of nothing. I was most impressed with the RB’s natural instincts and vision with the ball in his hands. Daniel possesses the ability to consistently run to daylight and gain positive yardage despite the massive workload. He was patient behind the line, and then accelerates once he hits the hole. The stamina is unquestioned as well after 43 carries. He’s an under the radar recruit to know. He currently holds one offer from Lakeland University. Daniel’s Round One Highlights
Frankie Collopy Frankie Collopy 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Milwaukee Marquette | 2022 State WI , ’22 WR- Milwaukee Marquette
Stat Line: 7 Receptions, 158 Yards, 3 TDs
The 6’ 175 lbs senior WR was able to do all his damage in one half of play on Friday night. The big play waiting to happen out wide won easily with his next level speed. Speed that allowed him to fly by DBs creating huge gaps of separation, haul in the pass, and trot into the endzone on multiple snaps. After the catch, Frankie was able to generate yards with his raw speed, with his short area quickness and agility, and contact balance. All these traits combine to help make Collopy a dynamic player out wide. He’s having a big time senior season. Don’t miss out! Frankie’s Round One Highlights
Jase Jenkins, ’23 RB- Neenah
Stat Line: 20 Carries, 133 Yards, 2 TDs, 3 Receptions, 35 Yards, 1 TD
The 6’1″ 175 lbs junior RB plays much bigger than that listing. Jase is a physical, powerful runner that is able to gain yards after contact. Whether using a strong stiff arm or his contact balance to run right through defenders arm tackles, Jase has a knack for being able to stay on his feet while taking hits. Jenkins also can be an option as a receiver out of the backfield. He also is a talented defender as well. Neenah has been putting out several talented playmakers. Jase looks to be the next one to know! Jase’s Round One Highlights
Alex Eichmann Alex Eichmann 6'3" | 190 lbs | ATH Sussex Hamilton | 2022 State WI , ’22 WR- Hamilton Sussex
Stat Line: 7 Receptions, 148 Yards, 4 TDs
It looks like the 6’3″ 200 lbs gifted athlete is going to be a nice steal for a big program. The two way senior playmaker has visited and received interest from the FCS level, but I am not seeing any offers. That can only be a matter of time. You won’t find many athletes Alex’s size that can run in the low 4.5s and jump 34″. He isn’t just a raw athlete either. Eichmann’s round one film shows a WR that can play above the rim. He high points the ball and uses strong hands to catch the ball away from his body and far away from defenders. Alex uses that elite speed to create separation before the catch and leave DBs in his wake after the catch. Eichmann has been a big time riser for me this season, and he is continuing his dominant play into the postseason. Check him out! Alex’s Round One Highlights
Ashten Quade, ’22 ATH- Ellsworth
Stat Line: 2 Carries, 44 yards, 2 TDs, 3 Receptions, 49 Yards, 2 TDs
The 6’ 175 lbs two way athlete has been breaking out in his senior season. The quick twitch athlete is at his best when he can utilize his short area quickness and low center of gravity. That short area quickness allows him to make defenders miss in a phone booth, and when he has to he came play behind his shoulder pads and pick up yards after contact. Quade also has enough long speed to be able to make the big plays when he gets out into the open field. This is an athlete that the D3 level needs to take a look at. Versatile athlete that can line up at RB, WR, or DB. Ashten’s Round One Highlights
Owen Kinziger, ’23 RB- Coleman
Stat Line: 17 Carries, 148 Yards, 1 TD
A junior for D3s to keep an eye on is the RB out of Coleman. I’ll be interested in seeing how the two way athlete continues to grow and fill out over the next year. Based off his quick film from round one of the playoffs, Owen looks to have a solid base to build on. He seems to always be able to find his way to daylight, has enough long speed to create big plays, and has what looks like enough contact balance to stay upright through arm and shoulder tackle attempts. Check out his hudl! Owen’s Round One Highlights
