The regular season is finally at its end for an amazing season. The final lineup will be nice and very competitive, we have games from many districts and games that will definitely determine playoff spots for the State Championship Playoffs. Our games this week are Seward @ Aurora, Burke @ Millard South, and finally Lincoln East @ Creighton Prep. Before we get into this week’s games let’s go into last week’s games. Our first game had Bellevue West taking on Columbus, and the Thunder Birds rolled over the Discoverers 62-0, Johansen had 357 passing yards L.J Richardson had 177 yards for 4 touchdowns. Our next game was between Papillion LaVista South V.S. Creighton Prep. The Junoir Jays destroyed the Titans 30-7 Jack Piemicky went 5/8 for 90 yards and 1 TD, Charmar Brown had 16 carries for 196 yards and 2 TDs. And our final game was between Boone Central and SCOTUS where the Shamrocks won 21-12.
Lincoln East V.S. Creighton Prep
Both of these 6-2 teams come in with something to prove and show where they belong on the stage. The Junoir Jays have had a great year, Jack Piernicky has thrown for 956 yards and 8 touchdowns. Their running back Charmar Brown has rushed for 1,041 yards and 15 total touchdowns. In the last 3 games, the Jays have scored more than 30 points totaling 120 total points. Lincoln East on the other side has the same 6-2 record, [player_tooltip player_id="147508" first="Noah" last="Walters"] this year has had 143 completions for 2807 yards and 38 touchdowns. His passing game has led them to so many great games and plays. and Sam Cappos who has had 58 tackles this season leading the Spartans defense. The first team to get the offense going will be the team to control their destiny and the game. Offensive Standouts- [player_tooltip player_id="147508" first="Noah" last="Walters"] 6’0" 195lbs, Noah is a total stud his 38 touchdowns this year is huge and the amount of scores he's has had and almost 3,000 yards on the season. he is a massive weapon for his offense and will be able to push his offense and team to the next level. Defensive Standouts- Sam Cappos 6’1" 240lbs, this season Cappos had had a monstrous year on the defensive line he has racked up almost 58 tackles. He can be an absolute monster if the offensive line doe not picks him up fast enough.
Seward V.S. Aurora
This year the Huskies have had a well-balanced attack with QB Drew Knust who has thrown for 729 yards and 9 touchdowns along with RB Carlos Callozo who has rushed for 784 yards for 12 touchdowns. The Huskies have also had a stellar defense led by Britton Kemling who has had 43 total tackles. They might have started out slowly but since they have done great and are working on a great finish. the Seward Blue Jays have had plenty of close games but can show they can get through them, along with destroying others to get ahead. This year they have outscored opponents 234-153 doing plenty. If they can get up fast and far they could scare the Huskies and make it a very good or close game. Whoever controls the ball will determine who wins. Offensive Standouts- Carlos Callozo 5’9" 200lbs, is a very strong and dominant running back with 12 touchdowns this year along with 762 yards. Defensive Standouts- Noah Hill is a dual-threat even though he also can play running back he is a hole filler and can be a great help in the bluejays possibility to stop this balance and change Huskie offense.
Burke V.S. Millard South
Two of the biggest teams in Omaha come to face each other. The Bulldogs of Burke high school and the Millard South Patriots, this year the Patriots have been dominant they haven’t been beaten this year and they don’t plan on it. They are lead by Nebraska commit [player_tooltip player_id="148260" first="Gage" last="Stenger"]. Stenger is 55/90 and has had 1,095 yards and 11 touchdowns. Running Back [player_tooltip player_id="164872" first="Christian" last="Nash"] has rushed for 893 total yards and 12 touchdowns. On defense, Josh Wilson leads with a total of 64 tackles. On the other side, Burke has fought back ever since their first loss against Bellevue West. [player_tooltip player_id="193751" first="Cooper" last="Katskee"] has had a great year having 1,225 yards and 14 TDs. Burke’s RB also has another 784 yards for 10 touchdowns. The key to this game is if Burke can stop that massive Millard South offense and keep their defense honest. Offensive Standouts- [player_tooltip player_id="164872" first="Christian" last="Nash"] 6’0" 220lbs, what more can be said about Nash he has run for 843 total yards and 12 touchdowns and that is one of the best stats of the season for anyone. He can get to the endzone any way he wants. Defensive Standouts- Josh Wilson may not be a huge name but his impact is huge for the Patriot’s defense. His 64 total tackles is something that cannot be scoffed at.
