Things to Watch in Week 8

A couple of things to watch as we enter week 8 from Philly QB’s to WPIAL Linebackers. &nbsp; <strong>St. Joe’s Prep QB [player_tooltip player_id="164520" first="Samaj" last="Jones"] Vs. Archbishop Wood QB [player_tooltip player_id="164150" first="Mekhi" last="Wharton"]</strong> Two sophomore QB’s from the Philly area battle it out for the first time. I consider Jones and Wharton to be the top sophomore quarterbacks in the Philly area. Neither of them doesn’t have stats available but they both do have a receiving threat, Jones has WR [player_tooltip player_id="141016" first="David" last="Washington Jr"]. and Wharton has TE [player_tooltip player_id="140949" first="Markus" last="Dixon"]. Jones has a high. Tight, quick release with a good arm who shows to be accurate. He shows to lead his receivers. Jones is also athletic who can make plays with his legs. Wharton has the size, he also shows high, tight, quick release. He also looks accurate with a good arm but shows to under-throw receivers. I’m really interested to see how each QB plays in this game. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/14652813/6147a2494debad08b82f574b" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/14544763/6161aa9332e77009c4873f15" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <strong>Battle of the Linebackers</strong> I am very interested in this linebacker matchup between Peters Township senior [player_tooltip player_id="27696" first="Nico" last="Pate"] and Bethel Park’s junior [player_tooltip player_id="140962" first="Gavin" last="Moul"]. Pate has quickness off the edge when blitzing. He also shows twitchiness and bend when coming off the edge. Wish he were more physical, good tackler. Shows some closing burst. He looks smoother out in space. Tried to get stast on him for this season. Moul is a physical kid who is a good tackler. His updated stats on the season 80 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 1 interception. Pate plays running back on offense, so it’ll be interesting to see how they do head-to-head.
