SERVITE
[player_tooltip player_id="25286" first="Noah" last="Fifita"]: Noah was much better than he was in the spring against Mater Dei. He completed 60 percent of his passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. He also made one of the biggest plays of the game, escaping a sack on a third down play and running 25 yards for a first down. Mater Dei’s coaches were telling me how hard he was to defend and despite having pressure in his face for much of the game, he was elusive and impressed everybody in attendance.

[player_tooltip player_id="25227" first="Tetairoa" last="McMillan"]: TMac was the prime target for Fifita as expected and his ability to make plays after the catch on underneath routes was crucial for Servite. He didn’t do as well on deep balls as he usually does but Mater Dei did a good job assigning two guys to him on those. He had a circus catch in the endzone that was ruled a touchdown (replay showed it was not a touchdown). Mater Dei’s receiver’s coach told me that TMac is one of the best jump ball receivers he has ever seen.

[player_tooltip player_id="141891" first="Mason" last="Graham"] & [player_tooltip player_id="145257" first="Vaka" last="Hansen"]: The two tackles for Servite played very well despite Mater Dei’s edge rushers causing havoc. Hansen did a good job blocking [player_tooltip player_id="25234" first="David" last="Bailey"] for the most part and so did Graham. The Mater Dei rushers did most of their damage when the tight ends were kept in to block. Both guys played both ways throughout the game too.
MATER DEI
[player_tooltip player_id="25225" first="Raleek" last="Brown"]: Brown is the best Mater Dei running back I have ever seen. The Oklahoma commit rushed for 162 yards with a touchdown and had several plays where he made something out of nothing. His speed is off the charts and his instincts are better than most running backs I have seen. He is so shifty and can exploit comeback lanes which makes him very hard for defensive coordinators to game plan for.

[player_tooltip player_id="25281" first="Quincy" last="Craig"]: Craig is one of my favorite high school players because his role has changed so many times during his time at Mater Dei and he never complains and just excels at everything. He ran for four touchdowns in the game and had a couple of big kick returns. He can play in the slot if needed and plays safety on defense as well. His four touchdowns were obviously huge for the Monarchs and he is very under-recruited.

[player_tooltip player_id="147708" first="Elijah" last="Brown"]: The sophomore was making his 12th career start and is so poised. He completed 17 of 23 passes for 247 yards with a touchdown pass. He also made a big play with his legs to extend a drive and milk more clock in the fourth quarter. Mater Dei coach Bruce Rollinson raves about him and he has coached elite quarterbacks including Matt Leinart who was in attendance.

[player_tooltip player_id="25224" first="CJ" last="Williams"]: Williams caught the game’s opening touchdown and made a huge catch in the second quarter to set up a go-ahead touchdown for Mater Dei. He and McMillan are the best two receivers in the state and it was fun seeing them play in the same game. He is brash and confident on the field and very nice and polite off of it. He is an elite athlete who runs great routes and has great hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="147719" first="DeAndre" last="Carter"] & [player_tooltip player_id="147730" first="Brandon" last="Baker"]: The two sophomores make up the left side of Mater Dei’s line and they were outstanding particularly in the running game. They were great on double teams and it was important because Brown and Craig are running backs who love to cut back to the left side and make big plays. Carter was offered by Michigan recently and may be the best sophomore left tackle in the state.
