The Week 7 Saturday action in the St. Louis area featured several outstanding performances.
Here is a quick look at some of the top performances, along with two prospects to watch in the 2024 and 2025 classes:
<strong>DL [player_tooltip player_id="215751" first="Lucas" last="Allgeyer"], 6-4, 240, MICDS, 2025</strong>
A prospect to watch in the Class of 2025, Allgeyer recorded three tackles and two sacks in the Rams’ 44-7 win over visiting Lutheran South. For the season, Allgeyer, who also plays offensive line, has 20 tackles and three sacks in seven games.
<strong>LB [player_tooltip player_id="215752" first="Joseph" last="Anderson"], 6-4, 200, Westminster, 2024</strong>
Anderson, who also plays tight end, is a player to watch in the Class of 2024 with his long frame and potential on both sides of the ball. Anderson recorded two sacks in a 34-7 win against John Burroughs and has 20 tackles, four sacks and an interception in seven games.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="215753" first="Avion" last="Bass"], 6-3, 180, Lift For Life, 2022</strong>
Bass completed 14 of 21 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns (with one interception) and ran for 48 yards on six carries in a win over Priory. He was also credited with 12 tackles. Senior WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="176237" first="Joshua" last="Mullins"]</strong> caught six passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="37523" first="Kevin" last="Coleman"], 5-11, 175, St. Mary’s, 2022</strong>
Coleman caught seven passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns in the Dragons’ 42-0 win against visiting Cardinal Ritter. The top prospect in the Class of 2022, Coleman is credited with 546 total yards (300 receiving, 246 rushing) and 10 touchdowns in five games while also playing some quarterback.
<strong>DL [player_tooltip player_id="37521" first="Tyson" last="Ford"], 6-6, 240, John Burroughs, 2022</strong>
Burroughs came up short in a 34-7 loss to Westminster, but Ford, a Notre Dame commitment, shined with a team- and season-high 12 tackles and a sack.
<strong>ATH [player_tooltip player_id="176224" first="Romano" last="Gines"], 5-9, 150, Hazelwood West, 2022</strong>
Gines racked up 331 total yards and five touchdowns in a 69-38 loss against Fox. He carried nine times for 199 yards and three touchdowns and caught five passes for 132 yards and two scores. He was also credited with eight tackles. For the season, Gines has 1,072 total yards (575 rushing, 497 receiving) and 12 touchdowns.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="197576" first="Gerard" last="Grewe"], 6-3, 210, Priory, 2023</strong>
Grewe completed 17 of 27 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown and ran 22 times for 118 yards and two scores in a loss to Lift For Life. Senior WR <strong>Jahaad Fort</strong> (6-0, 170) caught 11 passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="176223" first="Ja’Tarius" last="McKinney"], 6-0, 225, Hazelwood West, 2022</strong>
McKinney completed nine of 15 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns (with one interception) in the loss against visiting Fox.
<strong>RB-DB [player_tooltip player_id="37532" first="LJ" last="Minner"], 5-11, 200, Westminster, 2022</strong>
Minner had a career day in the Wildcats’ big 34-7 win over John Burroughs. He carried 32 times for 318 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught one pass for 16 yards. For the season, Minner has 1,060 rushing yards, 121 receiving yards and 17 total touchdowns to go along with 39 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="215754" first="Dominick" last="Murray"], 6-1, 195, Fox, 2023</strong>
Murray carried 12 times for 164 yards and two touchdowns in Fox’s 69-38 come-from-behind victory at Hazelwood West. The previous game, against Mehlville, Murray ran for 123 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Fox sophomore QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126261" first="Grant" last="Gibson"]</strong> ran for 55 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 74 yards and two scores.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="172435" first="Caron" last="Spann"], St. Mary’s, 2022</strong>
Spann completed 12 of 17 passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns (with one interception) in a big win over Cardinal Ritter. In four games this season, Spann has thrown for 734 yards and 10 touchdowns against one interception and rushed for 191 yards and two scores.
