Huntley’s season record: 44-13
Foothill vs. Villa Park
Analysis: The CrestView League is one of the most balanced leagues in Orange County. All four teams could beat each other on any given day. Foothill had a huge offensive game last week but lost to undefeated Yorba Linda. Quarterback Brody Jones returned from injury and threw for 404 yards and three touchdowns. Austin Overn caught 10 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns. Villa Park is led by very efficient quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="143138" first="Nathan" last="Kornely"]. [player_tooltip player_id="187302" first="Jackson" last="Christie"] is a versatile running back and the Spartans find creative ways to get him the ball. Owen Duckworth is a great pass rusher for the Spartans and Kaden Baptista is a ball hawk defensive back. The main question of this game is, will Villa Park be able to match scores with Foothill?
The pick: Foothill
Loyola vs. St. Francis
Analysis: Loyola bounced back from its close loss to San Clemente by cruising to a win against Crespi last week. [player_tooltip player_id="141919" first="Tahj" last="Owens"] is one of the best running backs in Los Angeles and Joe Tatum is an underrated quarterback. Peter Vanis is a legitimate number one receiver for the Cubs and [player_tooltip player_id="187247" first="Patrick" last="Sodl"] and Tye Smith lead the defense. St. Francis is coming off a nice win against St. Paul. [player_tooltip player_id="25393" first="Jack" last="Jacobs"] is a good quarterback who moves well and has a great arm. [player_tooltip player_id="25271" first="Max" last="Garrison"] is one of the biggest playmakers in Southern California and is a nightmare to defend. Garrison is the best player on the field in this game but Loyola is deeper.

Murrieta Valley vs. Vista Murrieta
Analysis: This is the Southwestern League championship game between two crosstown rival. Both teams can run the ball very well even though Vista Murrieta has the bigger names at running back. The Nighthawks have ran for 1,360 yards and 20 touchdowns this season. [player_tooltip player_id="216739" first="Gavin" last="Galzote"] and [player_tooltip player_id="208989" first="Matthew" last="Caldera"] lead the Broncos running game. Galzote has rushed for 1,093 yards and 13 touchdowns. Murrieta Valley has the edge in the passing game with Utah commit [player_tooltip player_id="25258" first="Brandon" last="Rose"] at quarterback and star receiver [player_tooltip player_id="25360" first="Tiger" last="Bachmeier"]. [player_tooltip player_id="25235" first="Jack" last="Pedersen"] can be a matchup nightmare at tight end for Vista Murrieta. I think Vista Murrieta can control the clock with its running game and grind this one out.

West Ranch vs. Saugus
Analysis: The Foothill League is comprised of the schools in the Valencia and Santa Clarita area and these two are the best in that area this year. Ryan Staub is the quarterback for West Ranch and has done a great job replacing [player_tooltip player_id="25215" first="Walker" last="Eget"]. [player_tooltip player_id="194203" first="Dylan" last="Roof"] has become a quality running back and Dylan Cotti is the top receiver. Brady Van Bennekum is one of the best defensive players in the Los Angeles area. Brady Welch has been the quarterback for Saugus recently and has done an effective job. Jacob Faraldo and the Saugus running game averages close to seven yards per carry and can control the time of possession. Dylan Hampsten is one of the Southern Section’s sack leaders and may be in Staub’s grill all game.
The pick: Saugus
Servite vs. Mater Dei
Analysis: I broke this game down in detail on Prep Redzone here. This is the best Servite team since the Friars won the CIF championship in 2009. [player_tooltip player_id="25286" first="Noah" last="Fifita"] struggled against the Monarchs in the spring but is playing his best football right now. With [player_tooltip player_id="25223" first="Domani" last="Jackson"] out, [player_tooltip player_id="25274" first="Cam" last="Sidney"] may be tasked with covering [player_tooltip player_id="25227" first="Tetairoa" last="McMillan"]. McMillan will also play corner against [player_tooltip player_id="25224" first="CJ" last="Williams"]. This will be the first game Servite has played where they don’t have the advantage at the line of scrimmage. I think it will come down to the wire, but I know better than to pick against Mater Dei ever.
