We're highlighting some of the best offensive performances from the Dayton area from this past Friday.
Brayden Doran - Preble Shawnee - QB - 5'4" 115 lbs
Doran is a very small player but he's incredibly tough. What he doesn't have in size he makes up for toughness. He's a fantastic athlete and is able to run and throw. He doesn't have a huge arm but it's more than serviceable. He's great in the running game and he broke open a handful of long runs on Friday including a long TD run where he weaved through the entire defense and scored. He found the endzone twice on the evening and helped lead Preble Shawnee to another win. They are still unbeaten on the year.
Colten Vanwinkle - Tri-County North - RB/OLB - 6'1" 183 lbs
Vanwinkle plays all over the field for Tri-County North but he's an impact player on offense. They use him in the backfield and at WR/TE. They just like to try getting the ball in his hands and take a few shots deep to him because he has the size. On Friday, he was able to make a long catch by going up for it, coming down with it, and racing down the sideline before getting caught. He found the endzone later in the evening and jumpstarted their offense.
Drew Baker - Fairmont - QB/RB/CB - 5'10" 180 lbs
Baker is Fairmont's do-it-all guy and he had a big game on offense Friday. He looked great as he was flying around the field. They'll have him throw and run depending on the situation. He's able to break tackles and make players miss in the hole. He found the endzone multiple times on Friday and tallied over 150 total yards. He broke a 65-yard TD run where he burst through the hole and was gone. Baker looked fantastic Friday and Fairmont dominated on their way to another win.
Conner Smith - Miamisburg - WR/DB - 5'7" 140 lbs
On a night where not much went right for Miamisburg Smith was a very bright spot. He's a decent athlete and was breaking tackles all over the field. They like to get the ball in his hands and see what type of yardage he can create. He got stronger as the game went on and they targeted him on a handful of 3rd downs. He was converting the 3rd downs on a regular basis and was moving the only person who could move the chains.
Bryan Kinley - Wayne - RB - 5'9" 180 lbs
Kinley is one of the stronger RBs in the area and he's able to break most tackles. He's decent in the hole and has great vision to bounce it outside. He accelerates in a flash and has a nasty stiff-arm he will hit defenders with. On Friday, he got one carry, bounced it outside, stiff-armed the defender into the ground, and hit paydirt. It was a fantastic play and the crowd went wild.
