Checks a lot of boxes in terms of physical skillset and tools to build on with his combination of length, speed, and athleticism. At 6’2” 180 lbs. he’s a lockdown corner capable of playing press man coverage against opponents best WR. He’s a strider that has the top end and recovery speed to cover all areas of the field effectively. He shows a good change-of-direction and transition out of his back pedal with a strong burst to close space. He’s a smart and savvy playmaker with huge upside and potential at the major D1 level. He’s still one of the top sleepers in the state with offers from Idaho and NAU.

[player_tooltip player_id="210437" first="Joey" last="Sumlin"], LB, Salpointe Catholic
Sumlin finally picked up his long overdue first offer from Morgan State last week. He’s an under recruited LB at 6’1” 235 lbs. that plays downhill with a great ability to read/react allowing him to disrupt plays as they are developing. He’s a violent finisher that is strong at the POA with great leverage, hip explosion, and leg drive upon contact. He’s an instinctual player that triggers quickly and shows good range and pursuit angles playing sideline to sideline. Love his ability to shed blocks and use his burst to quickly close space and make plays at or behind the LOS. Operates mainly as a run stopper but has shown potential to be a three down LB at the college level with his ability in coverage. Expect him to see a rise in his recruiting stock and the rankings as he finishes out his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id="210144" first="Brody" last="Kallman"], DL, Cienega
Kallman possesses ideal length and frame with great growth potential at 6’5” 230 lbs. Has the ability and athleticism to play either side of the ball at the college level at DE or TE. Shows strong hands as a pass catcher but I like him as DE where he can use his initial quickness and short area burst to work off the edge and rush the passer. He flashes good command and usage of a variety of DL moves to beat and shed blocks. He’s a high effort player that play hard and through the whistle. Just picked up an offer from Drake to add to his offers from Southwest Minnesota State and Culver Stockton.

[player_tooltip player_id="210146" first="Skylar" last="Edmonds"], LB, Red Mountain
Edmonds is a plus athlete with good size and length to build on at 6’2” 195 lbs. Flashes great versatility and a wide skillset with his ability to make plays in run support, coverage, and as a pass rusher. He’s a defensive playmaker that is always around the ball and puts himself in the right position using his smooth athleticism and savvy movement. He flies around playing fast and physical but understands his assignment and plays it well with good fundamentals and technique. He’s powerful at the POA capable of delivering strong contact on every tackle while also being a sure 1 on 1 open field tackler. Picked up his first offer from Minot State prior to the season but has the talent/ability to build on that number as he progresses.

[player_tooltip player_id="210148" first="Cody" last="Raetzman"], DB, Salpointe Catholic
Raetzman is a strong DB prospect with a lot of traits you look for in a college level safety. Good versatility, he has the ability to play as a deep cover safety or come down in the box and be effective in run support. High football IQ with good instincts and anticipation showing good eye discipline and patience as he’s diagnosing run/pass. Good transitional speed flashing the acceleration and leg drive to quickly close space and make a play on the ball. He’s a strong open field tackler that is aggressive and competitive. Looking to build on his list of offers including Minot State, Wisconsin-River Falls, and Allegheny.

[player_tooltip player_id="210150" first="Quinton" last="Johnson"], DL, Centennial
The 6’2” 230 lb. DE picked up his first offer from CSU-Pueblo in late July. He shows good athleticism to go along with his bend and flexibility coming off the edge. Demonstrates good hand usage/placement and does a good job to disengage from blockers while locating the ball carrier. He flashes good range and is strong in pursuit to make plays all over the field. Plus natural strength and balance at POA, but would like to see him improve his leverage and lower his pad level. Can sometimes get too high out of his stance sacrificing some of his power at the contact point. Love his tough, physical, and aggressive style of play. Has tools to build on as he continues to develop.
