With the win, the Eagles improved to 4-1 and will play Winton Woods in week 6 next Friday. The Tigers are 1-4 and will play Little Miami next Friday. Here are five players from the game whose performance was outstanding.
RB, Tofa Luani, 6’2, 245, Milford
The Sophomore RB had a phenomenal game as he rushed for 180 yards on 13 carries (13.8 ypc) and scored an impressive 6 TD. Friday was his 2nd 100 yard game in a row and has 11 rushing TD in 5 games. He shows good vision and decision making as he finds the open hole displaying very good burst through the hole and accelerates to top speed quickly once he enters the secondary. A tremendous athlete especially for his size he shows the ability to outrun LB and DB for a long gain while displaying great power and contact balance as he easily breaks tackles from those defenders.
RB, Natwan Webster, 5’10, 200, Milford
The Junior RB also had a great game giving Milford an excellent 1-2 punch in the backfield. On Friday night, he rushed for 182 yards on 19 carries (9.6 ypc) and a TD. He shows very good patience as he waits for his block to be set up on power runs, shows very good power as he runs behind his pads, displaying good play strength and contact balance keeping his feet constantly moving through contact as he drags LB and even a DL or two for a couple of yards as he picks up a first down.
QB, Luca Aquilino, 5’10, 180, Loveland
The Senior signal caller had a very good game last week as he accounted for 4 touchdowns against Milford (2 passing and 2 rushing). He displays excellent mobility as he keeps his eyes downfield while using his very good athletic ability avoiding DB and LB and delivers an accurate strike while on the move or in an awkward position. On short and intermediate passes, he quickly makes his read as he uses his good football intelligence to read the defense, shows a quick release and puts the ball in a spot where only the receiver can catch it. He displays very good arm strength as he is able to throw the ball 40 yards to the opposite hash on a go route and delivers the ball with great accuracy and touch. A dual threat QB, he uses his very good play speed and elusiveness to avoid DB in the open field while scrambling for a long touchdown run.
DB, Jaxon Stickle, 5’9, 170, Milford
The Senior DB played well against Loveland as he made 5 solo tackles and had a pass defensed. He plays as a rover and at times will play CB. In zone, he flips his hips quickly and covers the flat with his very good football intelligence and athletic ability as he constantly reads the QB and reads the routes coming into his zone. He shows good ball skills as he uses his very good closing speed to get to the ball and times his hands perfectly in the catch radius of the receiver deflecting the pass in the process. He displays good ability against the run as he quickly keys and diagnoses the run, uses his quickness to beat the block of the H-Back, displays a good motor as he plays until the whistle and shows good play strength as he brings down the larger RB with ease.
DL, Cam Zoromski, 6’2, 225, Milford
The Senior DL had a good game on Friday night as he made 3 tackles with .5 TFL and a pass defensed. He plays as a DE where he lines up in a 5T. Against the run, he uses his very good play speed to beat the block of the OT while displaying good instincts to take the correct angle in pursuit of the ball carrier, plays with good leverage and form tackling ability as he wraps up the RB for the tackle. Against the pass, he uses his very good athletic ability to execute a twist or uses his excellent play strength to bullrush the OT back into the QB. He displays very good play strength and physical tough to shed the block in combination with very good closing speed in pursuit of the QB and delivers a punishing hit for the sack.
