Let’s take a look at the top touchdown leaders so far.
Jr, RB / Angelo Rodriguez / 5’10” 205 / Highland Regional HS
Mr. Rodriguez is a transfer from Camden High School who is quick to rip off a chunk run at any given time. With nine touchdowns in his first two games, it is safe to say he has made a big impression with his new team. Rodriguez had a big game against Triton, rushing for 181 yards on 23 carries and 5 touchdowns. Also, rushing for 126 yards on 12 carries and 4 touchdowns against Gloucester Catholic on Friday. Rodriguez is on the verge for a breakout year as he continues to showcase his ability.
So, WR / Alexander Bosch V / 5’9” 160 / Woodbridge High School
Mr. Bosch is an instant contributor for the Barrons. His combination of his precise route running and speed makes him a dynamic playmaker. In Week 1 vs Winslow Township, Bosch totaled 76 yards on 4 receptions with 3 touchdowns. In Week 2 against Colonia, he totaled 87 yards on 9 receptions with 1 touchdown. Bosch has game changing ability who is very experienced as a sophomore. He is a dynamic weapon who plays outside receiver and slot.
Jr, RB / Matthew Surtz / 6’1” 205 / Robbinsville High School
Mr. Surtz is a versatile back who can run and catch the football on a high level. Surtz has a strong build and is a difficult runner to bring down. Week 1 against Ewing, Surtz had 6 receptions , 93 yards with 3 touchdowns. On the ground, he picked up 22 yards on 4 carries. Surtz is a dangerous receiving weapon out of the backfield who has a good feel for the game. He looks to continue to make his presence felt as the season goes on.
Sr, WR / Nicholas Dunneman / 5’11” 180 / Seton Hall Prep
Mr. Dunneman is a quality route runner who is sudden in and out of his breaks. He has natural hands and is a reliable pass catcher for Seton Hall Prep. In Week 1 against Pope John XXII, Dunneman had 3 catches, 73 yards with a touchdown. Also, in Week 2 against Union City he had 3 catches for 43 yards with 3 touchdowns. With that being said, Dunneman catches every ball thrown in his vicinity. He is dangerous after the catch displaying his excellent vision and elusiveness. Look for Dunneman to continue to set the bar high.
Jr, RB / Brandon Boria Brandon Boria 5'8" | 190 lbs | RB Cherokee | 2023 State NJ / 5’10” 200 / Cherokee High School
Mr. Boria is built well and has some quickness. Boria ran well against Lenape rushing for 133 yards, two touchdowns along with one receiving touchdown. Boria has great instincts who will make defenders miss in the open field. He is poised for a huge 2021 season as the lead back for Cherokee.
