Upper Arlington Defensive Standouts
#5 Asher Hamilton, MLB (2022) – Asher led the squad in tackles as he usually does. At 6’1 200 he is the perfect size for a college growing LB. He is great in his stance with eye discipline. He commands the defense. He is patient in his movements, always fits his gap, and get extension. Great block destructor and makes good tackles.
#6 Luke Frederick, CB (2022) – Luke had an outstanding night in coverage and against the run. He broke up some passes and destroyed blocks to fold in and make tackles on the perimeter. Very athletic player with great upside the rest of the season. Patient in his backpedal with good technique. Plays zone coverage really well with good sense of play and leverage on receiver. Take a look at this rising 2022.
#20 Charlie Paxton, S (2023) – Charlie is a very good rising junior. He is confident out there on the field and had a great night on Friday. Good technique at his position with patient movements and reading. He is very skilled at coming up on the run to make plays. He does a good job in coverage making the right read and staying on top. Rising star in 2023.
Central Crossing Defensive Standouts
#12 Elijah Fleshman, CB (2022) – Eli is a great athlete and did a great job on Friday vs tough competition. He had 6.5 tacles and 1 TFL. He is patient in his backpedal and reads plays well. He stays on top of routes and plays through the hands. He is quick in his transitions and makes plays on the ball.
#42 Aaron Jenkins, S (2024) – This sophomore made his presence known on Friday from the Safety position. He was really skilled for someone younger. He tackles well and reads plays well. He does a great job in coverage and stays on top of routes. Tough to beat him over the top all night. Look for him to improve with age.
