The Storm welcome the Spartans to the Metro West conference in 2021. Chanhassen hosted them Friday night. Here are my top 4 offensive players from Friday night’s game in an exciting matchup!
Grant Muffenbier(2023 QB Chanhassen)- Grant had his best game Friday in the 4 game season so far. The junior QB felt more comfortable in the pocket and used his WR’s to his advantage. Throwing for 148 yards in the 1st half and a touchdown, he won the QB battle last night in front of his home crowd.
[player_tooltip player_id="105374" first="Maxwell" last="Woods"](2024 RB Chanhassen)- Woods was electric last night. After having a high-ankle sprain in the season opener, he played his first full game for the Storm. On four attempts, he ran for 40 yards including a touchdown, and caught two passes for 15 yards he also had a big return on a kickoff in the 2nd half. Woods listed as the 13th best player in his class(4th best RB) his shiftiness and agility put on a show.
Victor Ruhland(2024 WR Orono)- Ruhland made the most out of a very tough Chanhassen defense. He was targeted 10 times, caught 4 of them for 45 yards. Despite not as many yards, he showed explosiveness off the catch and was tough to guard off the line.
[player_tooltip player_id="112048" first="Josh" last="Och"](2023 WR Chanhassen)- Och dominated last night. He became the WR1 with [player_tooltip player_id="49835" first="Charlie" last="Coenen"] being out. Josh was targeted 5 times, caught 3 for 86 yards. Already with 130 yards on the season, the #1 ranked WR in his class has helped the Storm a ton. The duo of Och and Muffenbier still have another year to go, they’re just getting started.
Honorable Mention- [player_tooltip player_id="116258" first="Josh" last="Kirchoff"](2022 RB/WR Chanhassen)- Kirchoff had 2 TD, catching 2 passes for 40 yds and running for 10. He saw more time after Grandstaff went out. Hopefully we can see more of him, Och, and Coenen this season lined up outside!
